Overall, I like the course but my gosh the fairways are ridiculous.  You have to hit a really bad shot to miss one.  Between Nelly, Jin Young and Brooke they missed 2 fairways all day.

Will be good for bigging up the driving distance stats, particularly as the course is at 1900 feet? altitude. Stacy averaged 266y in R1 and her YTD ave was 246y.

 

However, Nicklaus as the designer loves to give room off the tee but with testy green set-ups. I was a member of The Heritage in Melbourne that had a Nicklaus signature course and he explained his design philosophy to the members in print and in person. A great fun course to play as a half decent am.

There's about 3-5 min delay from actual real-time happenings and when it's posted but you can correlate amongst the groups, Jin Young, nelly and Brooke are top of a  duo Ingee and jennny K and after two 3-putts yesterday Brooke is gonna be really sloooooow on the greens, so the duo must be taking their sweet time lol

My Brooke is in a little funk.  Part of it is working out some kinks with the new clubs, I don't see anything major just gotta dial in the precision a bit better and her wedges are probably giving her the biggest headaches, she spins the ball pretty good with new clubs and she never really did with Ping clubs or her old ball.  Her putting going cold is what is really hurting her.  That 37 putt debacle round 1 of the last event really got in her head.  I can always tell when she hits a putting funk her par 5 scoring goes into the toilet.  I would say use the weekend to practice her putting but obviously practice doesn't help lol.

Just texted a friend who is on Jenny Shin’s bag this week. He’s going to pack a small fire extinguisher in the bag tomorrow in case she bursts into flames with another 5 straight birdie run.

 

She’s solid. 15 birdies in 36 holes.

Bummer for Gina Kim who was shooting a 5 under round yesterday and a 4 under round today .. and currently sitting at 3 under for the tournament. Scoring isn't the problem, it's too many mistakes!

The thing I used to like the most about Nelly was her chipping around the greens; but no more.  I couldn't believe my eyes when she shanked a sand save shot over the green for double bogey in Round 1.

 

Clearly, not all things about the new clubs are all bad; but both Brooke and Nelly certainly haven't been the same players since.
