Vessel Player IV

I got a text and email about these today but haven't seen anything about the possible release date. Anyone have any info on these? I'm in need of a new bag asap.

I’m in the same boat, got the text and email today.  There are a few pics in the PGA Show thread, but it’s been crickets.   Shocked there haven’t been more pics out.

I placed an order for one through my club.  They told me towards the end of April. I was trying to order a P3 bag, that's how I got the info for P4

 

I didnt get the email nor have I seen pics. If you can share links or info, I'd love to see it.

Just bought a Player 3 last week…

 

Should I return and get a Player 4? From what I can tell, it’s the same except one extra divider in the magnetic pocket, and one extra in the ball pocket.

Got a text and email this morning about the new bags this morning. Pro version is a nice addition with the larger top opening.  Only hesitation I have with these are they are so much shorter than the Titleist bags and I play longer length irons as is, so it seems like the clubs will hang out too much.

 

Anyone have the player III and play longer length irons?

You might wanna go for the DXR version. Besides that, the website doesn’t even say that the synthetic leather ones 8 lbs!

You're right... They don't say it's 8 lbs... They break down the components individually so you think it's lighter than it actually is 🤣

 

- 6-Way Body | 6.55 lbs

- Strap | .60 lbs

- Rain Hood | .80 lbs

 

6.55 + .60 + .80 = 7.95 lbs

Don't get me wrong I've always liked the way the Vessel bags look, but I walk half my rounds so the weight has always turned me off of them. Even without the hood it's still several lbs heavier than most other stand bags.

Questions for you guys:

1. 6 way or 14 way which do you prefer?

I have the 6 way... I don't know why, but something about 14 way just looks goofy. Depending on what grips you use, 6 way could shot allow you to carry more than 14 clubs which is nice for going to the range or testing multiple clubs out on the course.

New standard IV bag looks good. I prefer the mesh liner to the velour. It's also nice to see the addition of a cooler pocket. I'm not in need of a new bag, but may consider upgrading around the holidays.

I’m torn between the Player IV DXR and the Pro DXR.  I like the magnetic side pocket and the longer length of the Pro since my irons are an inch longer. But I like the looks of the mesh better on the regular version and because all other velour lined bags I have had end up wearing easier and fade from the sun.

Definitely a bag I'm interested in, still like my cart bag for space but want something with legs for range and option to carry. Hopefully can see this in person.

I love the Pro top size, I am just going to struggle to get past the same useless water bottle sleeves.  I use a walking cart 90%+ of my rounds so a pass through strap sleeve would have been nice as well.  Overall its a B/C bag, with a D for effort with upgrades/improvements from the Player III.

Pre ordered the IV Pro to go along with my VLX 2.0.  VLX is great for local rounds and the range, but I have multiple trips this year and it'll be good having a bigger bag since I generally need to take a lot more when I'm traveling.  This looks to be the bag I was hoping my Taylormade staff stand bag would have been.

Why are these bags so short? Everything is like 1.5-2" taller from what I see and I play my irons longer so it just seems weird with them sticking out so far.

That was a concern of mine,  but I honestly don't notice it even when next to another bag.

What length are your irons? Mine are only +1/2 inch but it's just concerning to me that it's so much shorter and my irons are longer. Do you have a picture you could please send me of your bag full?

I'm not sure if I should upgrade from my III. One of my main problems with my current bag is that the clubs get stuck often on my 14 way vessel III so if the IV fixes the issue then i'm definitely upgrading. Not the problem is deciding on the Pro version or regular version. Any suggestions?

I play 1/4 inch under the TM standard.  I don't have any pictures handy, but there's plenty of Players III pictures floating around.  It was something I was sort of concerned about, but the pictures for sure make it look worse than it really is.  The only place it's sort of noticeable is when the legs are deployed, and some of that is just a result of the design that pushes the clubs in the bottom out a bit more.
