Has anyone found a good plain midweight hoodie. Doesn’t need to be a golf brand, looking for something plain offered in multiple colors. Thanks

I'll second the Travis Mathew Cloud hoodies, I have one and absolutely love it. Super soft. Another good one is the FJ lightweight, it's definitely lighter than the TM Cloud, but pretty warm. I wore it last week in 50* weather with just a base layer underneath and was good all day.

I love the Rhoback hoodies, but they are logoed up front and back, not really 'plain'.

 

Peter Millar has several versions that are not really 'branded' at all - the Pine Performance is fantastic, as is the Aurora (very lightweight).

They are not cheap, but they are well made and very nice hand-feel.

Although the Footjoy is called "Lightweight hoodie", it's pretty warm and more midweight to me. 

 

I wear it with a regular golf polo down into the 50s all the time, and if its getting into the 40s throw a lightweight base layer on first and am good.

UA Storm Fleece Hoody

 

Despite the name, it is very 'mid-weight'. No cotton, which, to me, is synonymous with mid-weight. I bought a couple in the fall, sight unseen based on a UA sale email and they are my new favorites. And they are not "storm" apparel, but not sun protection shirts either.

 

And every big name (and boutique name) makes similar, but as a hoodie connoisseur, you just don't know until you buy it and its so particular to your taste that advice is hard to rely on. 

 

I just accept that my success rate on mail order hoodies is going to be 50% or less.

I’ve tried UNRL and Rhoback. The Rhoback is much better for golf and activities in general. The UNRL looked cool, but was kinda uncomfortable. Honestly the Rhoback logo doesn’t bother me. It’s small and thin stitching so doesn’t stand out. Plus they have about 50 colors to choose from when in stock. Code GOAT15 takes 15% off and helps ease the price pain.

32 degrees is great. I wear the lightweight ones all the time. I also have really liked the Nike yoga hoodies. Those feel more mid weight and they fit me perfectly. No draw strings either.

I got a Levelwear hoodie for Christmas, and it’s very good. Also got a Johnny-O, and it’s a bit more stylish, but it’s pretty lightweight.

The Target All-in-Motion 95% Cotton / 5% spandex hoody is $18 and unbelievably awesome.  I once bought it at the Target next to LAX when my flight was delayed and I needed a cheap insulation layer.  It is absurdly stretchy, very comfortable, and despite being 95% cotton doesn't get too sweaty.   Weirdly great.

32degrees. Perfect light weight option.  I have about 13 of them.  I wear them every night when I get home with shorts.  I also work out in them.   Some of my favorite shirts to wear.   
 

that said, I’m looking for more of a wearable piece, a little warmer. The FJ lightweight is awesome. Need more of them.  
 

 

always surprised more never speak of the cloudspun Puma hoodies.  Super comfy and can usually be found on sale for a lot less.  
 

Peter Millar Pine is the best but it’s almost like a “too nice” of a hoodie. But I love them.  $140 tho.  Yeah.

How do they fit? Seems like a lot of hoodies and 1/4 zips you gotta size up to be comfortable in. 

 

The Random one is tempting at that price.

Length is great & maybe a touch baggy at the bottom

 

Chest is literally perfect

 

 

XL - I've been sizing up like you mentioned and glad I did Large for me might be too tight.

Appreciate it, I have big shoulders and arms and absolutely hate when a hoodie is snug especially a golf one. So I guess I'll size up, worst case I just have a casual around the house/office and gym hoodie.

I use it for a gym hoodie mostly because the moisture wicking is elite, the material gets snaggy easily if you are doing barbell work so skip it for squats.
