Just like to hear what ball you feel was the best ball you ever played? It can be a certain year of ball..

 

Taylor Made Red LDP is my vote...perfect  golf ball

My all-time favourite ball was the Maxfli DDH HT balata, but I remember both the Titleist Professional and the original Nike Tour Accuracy balls initially being leaps ahead of anything else available at the time.

Not sure it’s the best ever made but the one ball that sticks out in my mind that I really liked and is no longer available is the Nike RZN Tour Platinum ball. I stocked up for a while when they quit making them, never really did that with any other ball.

The Titleist Professional and the original wound Maxfli Revolution are balls that I'm very fond of.

Current proV x1 is best short game I ever used. Great ball for chipping & putting.

Best recent ball(s) - 2019 TP5 family. The TP5x is the longest tour-level ball I’ve used. The TP5 was the best overall ball. It’s use of multiple layers to produce club-specific flights is unmatched. It’s like every few years, TM puts out a world-beating ball, then dumbs it down for no apparent reason…

 

Best current ball - V1x. No other ball is able to discriminate driver and short iron flight and spin as well. It has the best “stopping” characteristics of any ball.

Shot my lowest scores with a Maxfli Revolution in the ‘90’s

 

- Long & straight off the tee

- Good spin off the irons

- Good enough (but more importantly, consistent) spin around the greens

- Durable

- Affordable

For whatever reason I used to love goofing around with the Hogan balls in the early-mid 2000s. 

 

They were so soft you could spin a wedge back 50 feet with them 🤣. Of course, they were also so soft that after one wedge shot the ball was scuffed so bad you had to toss it.

Yellow chrome soft x triple track. It’s so ugly that nobody else will use it or scoop my ball up and claim it’s there’s. Looks horrible, but it performs great!

My fondest memories and ball I loved most was the Maxfli Revolution as well.  I was also a very big fan of the original Callaway Hex Chrome ball (before they added the "soft" to it).

I've had lots of favorite balls for a variety of reasons: 

 

1. Callaway HX Diablo, made my albatross with that ball.

2. Callaway Warbird, made my hole in one with that one.

3. Wilson Fifty Elite, broke 75 in a tournament for the first time with that one.

4. Maxfli Noodle, made 5 birdies in one round with that one of those. 

5. Titleist Pro V, won my first Club Championship with this one, can't remember which ball I used for my second Club Championship the following year

6. Taylormade TP, won my first Senior Club Championship. 

 

As you can see, I play lots of brands and my current favorite is a Callaway Chrome Soft.
