All-black PXG Gen 6

Asked PXG rep and the response is this is for now an Asian Market only color for Gen 6.

 

Anyone has any source to learn about the availability of this potentially in the US? Looks kinda sick

Hopefully sales will be in the gutter for the black labels and we will get this release in next 3 months. The new chrome finish looks way better than the black labels. 

 

Maybe my Gen 5 black labels will appreciate?!?!

Gen 6 hasn't released in Japan according to their website.

Im in for a group buy, or however.....but I know I'm looking to buy these.  

 

There's a few pretty well know Japanese online retailers out there like golf partner USA, but it may require using a proxy service.

 

Or maybe we get lucky and they just sell them here!!

Well for what it's worth got a little information on these from a pretty reliable source.

 

The same Asian Distributor that the guy at my club gets his Autoflex's from has 30 sets of the Blackhawks. They are $3000 shipped and are only 5 - PW. Only 1 shaft choice though, the Nippon Pro Modus. You can get the heads only for a whopping $5 a club less.

 

So I think I'll pass for now and just wait for Parsons to release them here.

Hopefully they at least do the black limited ed Modus shafts, because otherwise that's a massive fail.  For $3000 I'd expect the steelfiber private reserve shafts.  

 

Heres hoping Parsons brings those to the US with better shaft options.

 

Would be nice to Frankenstein a set, but that would require some serious work if the lower tungsten bar can even be removed.  Too risky though.  

 

Anyone ever tried darkening the satin parts?  Using a gun blue/black oxide type solution?  I don't currently have a set so I can't remember what they were made of (assume stainless outer shell but not sure, if it's carbon then should be doable)

5-PW with Modus as the only shaft option for $3k… I’d say that’s ‘Blackhawk Down’…

In Japan, the price is not yet officially announced, but it is expected to be 45,000 yen per head, and it appears to be sold as a 5-p set.

Man, that video just makes me straight angry at PXG for not making that the standard edition. The all black head looks a thousand times better than the two tone garbage they have going on the last two generations.

Yes, it really does!  I know some have said when you see the regular version in person they look better.  I just cannot buy them after seeing the black hawk version.  If PXG was smart, they would get these to market in the states with a quickness.

Like a true WRX ho you need to buy the chrome now and then IF the Blackhawk is released you buy it at that time.

Like the Gen5, the back part of the head in the Gen6 labelled "TUNGSTEN" is milled out of the head and is not a tungsten part added to the head.

The only parts on the back that are tungsten are the screw weights.

 

...This info comes from PXG.

 

 

Just like the TM P790 hosel that says "FORGED", the only part of that head that is forged is the face plate....misleading just like PXG's use of Tungsten.

Just a quick correction. The $3000 price isn't a confirmed delivered price. He is supposedly working through a few issues with shipping and insurance.
