For a starter bag, that would have decent forgiveness and playability and fairly easily available on the bay, you may be able to get these near-ish that price. So mine would be as follows.

I actually did this recently. I've got a few trips planned this year and wanted to put together a travel bag for a reasonable price. I've seen a few too many horror stories lately about people's experiences flying with clubs. I figured the less I have invested, the less I'll care should something happen. I put this set together for $260, including head covers and the bag I'm at $480. Here's the breakdown:

FW: TaylorMade V-Steel 2w(13°) & 4w(16.5°) w/ S300 shafts - $80

Irons: MacGregor PCB Tour 3i-PW (Miura Forged, hidden gems these are) w/S300 shafts - $80

Putter: Cleveland Corey Pavin US Open Commemorative - $40

That great, but i have one question, how the heck did you find all those clubs in pristine condition at those prices?! Im jealous about that Nike 😏

@mbwannabA lot of persistence and patience. If you're willing to wait, the deals do pop up. I think the Nike went so cheap because of the 8.5° loft and it's 45.5" long. Most people rightfully want something that'll be a little easier to hit. I don't mind if it's 12 year old tech and prefer that it's only 425cc, but the PR machine at TaylorMade is strong and most guys are convinced they need $800 carbon drivers, so I slip into this little beauty for an unfairly cheap price.

Prices are the cheapest e-bay prices I could find on a quick search. $413.  Pretty much my bag up until about 2016 or so except for the putter, but I still have my old Ray Cook in the corner here in the office.  If we can go with using our own pre-owned clubs, then this bag is $0 as I still own them all.
