Has anyone had a chance to compare the two driver heads? Very interested in trying these this year.

Hit both. Standard looks better at address, but if the XF was the better driver for me, I'd happily put one in the bag.

Ballspeed very similar across the two heads. Had to open the XF up with the sleeve as it looks a touch toed in.

Spin was a little higher with XF so ultimately not as good a fit for me. But if you are are after a point and shoot driver, I found this better for my game than a G430 Max for example.

Thanks for the reply. Besides a touch of spin, did you notice any difference in trajectory?

Definitely higher. I know PXG have tried to separate the two driver heads more so than previous generations.

I haven’t hit Gen 6 yet, but the difference for my swing between the Gen 5 and the Gen 5 XF was night and day. I couldn’t get a fairway with the XF, spinning them right and left, but the Gen 5 tamed my spin and allowed for at least a *consistent and predictable* miss and many more fairways.

I just had a driver fitting at the PXG store in Dallas this past Thursday. After establishing the baseline with my driver, I started hitting what the fitter handed me. Throughout the session, he used the 0311XF and the results were better than I got with my driver. At the very end, I asked him to let me hit the standard 0311 with the shaft we had settled on. He was concerned as my spin numbers during the session were on the lower end of acceptable and the standard 0311 is supposed to be the lower spinning head of the two.

With the standard 0311, my spin numbers were actually higher than with the XF and were "ideal". More carry and more total distance were achieved with the 0311 vs the XF as a result. My fitter said that difference in spin, despite the head design, can happen sometimes depending on the player.

I surprisingly ended up with an R flex shaft, fully expecting at my age (75) and slow swing speed, to be fitted into a lightweight Senior flex shaft. Were I to have bought this club without the fitting, that is the direction I would have gone. Just goes to show the value of a fitting!
