Trade, Trip, Tweak, Tinker, or Tune your putter?

What’s your MO? Do you keep acquiring the latest and greatest? Listen to a fitter? Tinker and tune what you have until it feels just right. Sell outright? Trade for another? 

I’m a tinker/tuner/tweaker. It’s either a NP2 or Anser 2. Don’t really go out of that box, but seem to always be playing with balance, weight, grips, and length.

after i figured out a good way to pull grips, i basically use a different putter grip every week!

I get up with a new "THIS IS THE ONE!" putter every year. I get it, swear it'll be the last putter I ever buy, but inevitably it gets replaced.

I’m 100% no tape, air compressor on putters now. So easy it’s stupid. Nice to mess with weighting that way.

I’ve been a tinkerer sticking with one putter with multiple grips over the years.

 

I’m about to change soon and acquire a new style and fairly pricey putter to change things up a bit.

All of the above. Like that pathetic gambler looking for discarded winning tickets at the horse track, I keep searching for THE ONE. 
I think I’ve narrowed it down to just blades- I swear this time- no more mallets… just blades. 
… but that Evnroll EV 5.1 looks so good. Maybe one more try with a mallet…

think next move tho is to mill my own

I've settled on a three putter rotation - large mallet, mid mallet and wide blade.  Usually I won't play more than 5 or 6 rounds in a row with the same putter.  It's probably why I suck at putting.

I had one putter in the bag for 10 years. That bag got stolen. 4 years later I'm still searching. I don't putt badly, but nothing has wuite had the magic of my old rife Barbados. 

 

I'm currently trying to build something new from a model i loved in the past (but never switched to because of the barbados). I've got a custom TaylorMade Ghost Manta in the works. I've got 2-3 different grips to choose between, a copper insert, a new finish. 

 

But I'm also looking to get fit as well. I think the Tri Hot 5K 7 would be a really good fit. Or maybe Toulon Memphis or Las Vegas.

 

And then I see the PLD Fetch in the tour pics! That without the hole would be close to perfect. 

 

So to answer the original question, I'm currently all of the above!

My last few have been "double wide" or "fang" styles with a single bend neck, so I have a pretty good idea of what fits my eye. So for me, it's a matter of tweaking the grip, length, and headweight to dial it in for my stroke.

Use a gamer. Experiment and tinker and aquire and sell my other putters.
