Done because he gets fired? No. I don't see people who spoke out against LIV getting fired because of this "merger" because frankly, there would be too many people under that umbrella. There will be no cleaning house.

 

Done because he quits out of integrity? Ha! No to that too. Though it would be heartwarming to see the most vocal opponents of LIV actually put their money where their mouths are. I'd certainly respect that.

Bramble was the Skip Bayless of golf commentators.  He should just comment on golf going forward.

We'll see about that. Golf Channel is so in bed with the PGA Tour, I don't think the people on that channel will be allowed to criticize the Tour on this stuff over time. The Saudis are not going to pump billions upon billions of dollars into the Tour and allow the Saudi government to be criticized on the main TV channel for pro golf.

I didn't say he was wrong. Just saying I won't be shocked if he gets fired. So far they have had pretty open discussion today about the news, but I think over time there will be more of an authoritarian clamp down on Golf Channel's content.

Golf Channel pretty much waived its First Amendment rights by getting into major contracts with the PGA Tour, which is now going to have major influence from the Saudi government. If Golf Channel was not contractually in bed with the PGA Tour, they could continue criticizing all of this stuff if they want. The contracts make it difficult though.

What do people want in a golf pundit? To have opinions that are the same they also hold? I think that is unrealistic expectation.

he believes what he said, Monahan doesn't believe that deeply what he, Monahan said.   I respect BC more than JM.
