These modern woods go so far I personally don't think a 3 wood is necessary. 

Yep I dumped my 3 wood because the sim 5 wood is a rocket launcher.

I think that is why the 7 woods are being put in play because they are filling the gap where the 5 wood used to be.

My 5 wood is the epic flash which I put in the bag replacing a Epic Flash 3 hybrid every so often. I wish I could give a definitive reason why the change but it’s just happens strictly by gut feeling. Which I have a lot of guts due to my weight.

I'm sure the 723 line is great, too.  I have the stock, non-velocore Ventus in mine and it's done just fine.

Quickly became one of my favorite sticks to hit, and a go-to on the tee if things are going south with dr/3w.

Probably, but their prices are now nearly in line with the main manufacturers, with worse shaft options.

723C is 329, 723E is 279.  Stealth 2 is 349.

 

At least last year's model at it's current clearance price opens the value discussion.  150 vs 350 is almost a no brainer, you can grab a used Ventus Velocore for 200 and for the same price overall as the Stealth 2. Especially given it's results in MGS, if you put any stock in those.

 

But 329 vs 349 is a no brainer the opposite direction, for me anyways.

@Welderjt It's really good. I cant really compare it to anything Cobra as it's my first one but it's got a nice muted "crack" of a sound. There's not much a feel to it, in fact it almost feels like you didn't hit anything at all when hit on the screws (which I like). The ball absolutely explodes off the face. For reference it's longer than the TSi3 4 wood I was testing previously.

I play a TSi2 5 wood.  Occasionally I hit a lower flight with it that I feel goes a little too far but I’m happy with it and it’s the best option I’ve found between my 3 wood and 4 iron.

A 913F with a Diamana BB 83. A1 setting, so bog standard at 19  degrees, which I call a 4-wood, but the shaft just works for me and the head looks great at address and gives me a high flight which is quite spinny and soft-landing. It doesn't balloon, but it's a definite soft 'hangy' flight like you used to be able to get with a 3-wood and a balata. I don't want a second fairway wood that goes miles. It competes for a place with my 2-iron, and when I put it into play it's for high, soft landing shots into par fives. Honestly, I struggle to do a Justin Thomas with it, and hit low stingers and piercing draws, but if I need to do that, a long iron is the right tool for the job in my hands. The 4-wood is 'Old Floaty.'

G410 turned down to 16.9 in the little minus with a ventus red 7x. This one’s my favourite club in the bag. It comes out on all but a few tee shots at my home course. It’s the one club I don’t even contemplate replacing.

King LTD with a Diamana S+ bb , turned down to 17 mostly to square the face more and keep the draw tamed. Have always had an easy time flighting it and not afraid to attack a green from 220 out, knowing it'll land soft. Cobra fairways are great but I immediately loft them all down because they set up so closed at 'stock' settings .

Had a ping g30 5W... decided to try a Maltby STi 18* 5W as it was on clearance for $5.99... Ended up selling the Ping and staying with the STi. Paired it with a Miyazaki C. Kua shaft... Love it...  Mini driver, 5w, 3 hybrid

I love my Big Tour off the tee at 15.5 @42.75". I have an F-Bomb headcover because its so freaking long. The 5 wood has the same shaft but just 3/4" shorter at 42".

I use an old Adams Tight Lies with some 2000s Aldila 70S shaft and it still goes just as far with just as easy launch as any modern 5W I've tried. Mindless 220-230 dart unless my swing is misfiring that day. It feels like cheating tbh.

Ping G425, 1 inch short of standard. This club has been unbelievable for me this year. Most of my golf is on the same 9 holes (eight par 4’s and one par 3), and I use this off the tee for five of the holes. I’m hitting 75% of fairways with it and my strokes gained off the tee has improved by four strokes!
