The 2H is 18° while the 5W is 19° with tungsten biased for high launch (it is an older Adam Tight Lies), so despite the shaft length differences if I catch both cleanly I find the 2H goes 5-10 yards further (I expect 235-240 with the 2H and 225-230 with the 5W). I have not hit either extensively on a launch monitor so I am not sure if I am missing a gear with the 5W I've yet to discover or if there is a face heat difference but it does feel like mostly a result of spin and trajectory. I can work the 2H to get a ball flight somewhat close to the 5W but its more effort and even so quite the same, which is ultimately why I decided to go with both despite the similar distances.

I don't have a 5W, but the wife has a Ping G400 and I love hitting that thing. I wouldn't be afraid to pick up something like that for my own bag.

 

My current FW is a Callaway EF SZ (3W), if I was to buy a 5W today I would strongly consider getting a EF 5W off of CPO.

 

For new models, the Mizuno options are pretty compelling.

Just threw an older one back in the bag, Titleist 913F 19* with a RIP Alpha 80X. I like the smaller head and most modern fairways don’t spin enough for me. I find it easier to take spin off then try and add spin.

I recently threw an old 913F 5 wood in the bag and am loving it. I like the smaller head and higher spin compared to the newer stuff.

I had a Sim2 non-Ti 5 wood awhile back, I regret getting rid of it. Anywho, I’m now back with the Stealth 2+ 5 wood (weight in middle), I’ve been really liking it so far. I’ll probably swap the shaft at some point, currently playing the stock Kai’li Red 70. 
 

I’m having fun trying to dial it in, as of right now. I don’t see much differences between the front and center weighting. The back is definitely more higher launch. This was the most expensive FW I ever spent. So for my wallet sake, I hope this stay in my bag for 10+ years lol. Between this club and my TSR2 4 Hybrid, I’m pretty happy with the top end of my bag.

Still rocking the Nike Vapor Speed 2-dot (smaller tour head) 5-wood with a D+ 90TX at 42.5". Only reason it'll leave at this point is if the face caves in (hopefully not anytime soon)

Long been a PXG Gen 2 5 wood with Ventus blue 80 and now got a Gen 6 5 wood with Tensei white 75 coming, although I can swap in my VB if needed.

I'm going to sound like the biggest WRXer in the forums but here goes.. I play a TSi3 3 wood and ordered the same TSi3 5 wood to match. I loved the look and feel but found the head to be too low spin and was therefore going too far for the distance gap I wanted in my bag. I sold the TSi3 and went old school. Back to a 915Fd 18* head and I love it. I feel like I can hit more shots with this one and it goes the distance I'm looking to fill.

Considering the large head size of modern fairway woods, I consider 5-wood to be the "new 3-wood" .

To me the large head size modern 3-woods are most suitable for tee box play, because they travel just about the same distance as a driver tee shot.

Was gaming a aerojet 18 turned to 19 hit a lot of greens very  accurate but wanted a lower profile head to make it easier to hit on thin lies. so i found a g400 and it has been money, accurate and easy to hit.  Short knocker here but also really doing well with the paradym x 3hl as my 3 wood
