5 Wood guys....Whats your setup

I still gaming a stock g410 5w. I use so much off the tee and fairways, that i could almost see my smile when I flip it over. (Sole)

 

with these crazy high prices ($450) of FW nowadays, I’ll be able to shave using my current 5w after a few seasons to come.

TM SIM original titanium, XC-7 Graphite design shaft. Great for the club events from the white tees to find fairways.

I rotate my driver. Can’t seem to land on one. 
 

But, my 3 wood and 5 wood have not left the bag since I put them in around 2017. If it is really windy or dry conditions, I’ll rotate a driving iron in the 5 wood spot. 
 

Cobra F8+ Nardo with x stiff rouge silver shaft. 14.5* degrees. 250 carry. 
 

Cobra F8+ Nardo with x stiff rouge silver shaft. 18* degrees. 225 carry. 
 

Then I’ll play 4i.

Been playing with a TSi2 5W turned to 19.5 for the past year. Its been so good off the tee (its my 260 tee club). Off the deck its the best to hold greens from 250 out on par 5s (last time I used it, had a 245 carry over water, stopped on a dime). 

 

Problem I always face is what to do with the top of the bag set up.

 

Driver - obvious - 290 carry, 320 total

3 wood - really only use when driver is too long. but don't want to move to a tee only club here, since sometimes its good to have a max distance club that's not driver and 5 wood.

5 wood - so reliable, but into wind, not the best..

3 hybrid - just picked one up. Love that it's shorter than the 5 wood, but also doesn't go as high, and is certainly less forgiving.

 

Then for me, 4 iron can carry 230-240 when hit "well" but it's hard to hit that reliably, and its a bit low (only 40* land angle off a tee). And it's not the most reliable on long approaches. So 4 hybrid may be the best here, but then again, into wind, not the best, AND harder to control off the tee than the 4 iron. 

 

If only we could have 15 clubs...

I play old Titleist 975 woods and I have the 18.5* trimmed down to 40.5”, basically a modern 3h. Stock True Temper EI-70 stiff graphite shaft. I love this club.

bro how is your driver carry only 290 if your (19.5°!) 5W carry is 250

I have a few depending on the course I am playing. 

 

High winds, Stealth plus with a Kaili White shaft. Goes insanely far, slight fade with low spin. Just cuts through the wind. 

 

General play, Cobra Aerojet with Kaili Blue shaft.  Great distance slight fade with good spin. Will hold greens from 210-220 out. 

 

Tight courses, Cobra Radspeed Draw with OG Kuro Kage black shaft.  ALWAYS dead straight, crazy high if need be and stops on a dime.

As a junior golfer I had a 3w+5w set up - both were titleist 913’s with Diamana Blue (whatever it was at the time) in them. Loved those clubs. When i started playing again after college I messed around with different set ups, had a srixon zx 5 wood for a time that i turned over too much, played some hybrids, tried a driving iron or two… a couple months ago I bought a tour issue M5 ti 5 wood off here to pair with my 3 wood (tour issue Sim 2 ti, Tour AD DI 8x… probably my favorite club) and built it to match (same shaft)… never looking back. A matching 3 and 5 wood duo is so money🔥🔥

I'm looking to fill this spot in my bag.  I had a G410 5 wood but cracked the face.  I also have a G410 7 wood that I wasn't playing, I turned it down 1.5 degrees  and put it in the bag, but still have a somewhat large gap from it to my 3 wood, and it doesn't go all that much further than my ZX4 4 iron, but does go nice and high.   I am looking for something more like a strong 5 wood or 4 wood, or maybe a 16-18 degree hybrid.  So many choices to go through.....

Epic Speed with Project X HZRDUS Smoke iM10 70 graphite shaft.  Has quickly become my favorite club in the bag since adding it at the start of the year.

I just recently picked up a SIM your issue ti with rdx smoke shaft and it's so good it's crazy. Off the fairway and tee it's incredible. If there's a shot I need to hit to keep it down, I blast my srixon u85 2 iron that cuts thru the wind pretty good.

Just turned down the Rad Speed Tour 5 to 16*. Effectively a 4 wood consistent from fairway and teebox.

Just bagged a Cobra LTDx LS 17.5* with a Fujikura Motore F1 70X. Really love it. Neutral ball flight, and off the deck is quite easy.

Rails on the sole are very helpful to play shots off the ground, especially rough, sloped, or other less than ideal lies.  This has been true for more than 50 years but it seems like only Cobra and sometimes Cleveland Golf offer clubs with sole rails.

Picked up an OG Sim Ti 5 wood head off BST and put it in the 42.5” CK Pro White 70g shaft I was playing with the Stealth Plus 3 wood. Lowered loft to 17 degrees and it’s basically dead even in distance with the 3 wood but easier to hit and straighter. 
 

Today was the first day so I’m curious to see how this plays out. I was playing the Stealth Plus at 15-16.5 degrees but was finding the face looking more closed at setup and causing me to pull more than I wanted even though distance was good.

TSR3 10* at -.75* with Ventus TR Blue 6s but testing the TR Red 6s and may make that switch after little more testing as seeing little less spin with the Red TR for my swing...never have tried any of the Ventus blacks

Recently purchased a Stealth 2 Plus 5wd, which should arrive early next week. I have read and watched a decent amount of reviews so really looking forward to seeing how it plays.

Sticking with the Rogue ST Triple Diamond 5w for now. Love the adjustability and the taller face so I can beat down on it in the fairway/rough.

 

I was getting close to ideal numbers around 18* launch and 3500 spin with most all of those setups +- a few hundred RPM and some launch with each model.

You can buy them back from CPO in about 4-5 weeks. I just returned two of them about 20 minutes ago.
