Printable yardage books

Question for parents with older competitors: which service do you use to print yardage books for tournaments?

 

In the past, I've ordered hard copies from Strackaline, but ordering hard copies for each tournament gets expensive. I've used DECADE before to print of my own computer, which I think works OK. The yardage books are not as good as the Strackaline hard copies and don't include green contours. I know Strackaline also offers a digital subscription, but this does not allow printing -- you can only view the information on the app.

 

Any other options for junior players that play tournaments multiple times a month and would benefit from a subscription-based type of service and allows for digital printing?

Probably in the minority but I would buy a nice cover that can hold a scorecard and yardage book.

 

I would have them during practice rounds draw the course themselves. They can make notes and it becomes a true ownership of the process.

 

Example.

 

Hole 1 - 431 Yard Par 4.  From the box its slightly down hill.  The tree on the left is 260.  The bunkers on the right 255.  Fairway slopes right to left.

 

Green is guarded by 3 bunkers. From the 150 maker its 135 to cover the front bunker.

 

Just an example.  They can put notes about what clubs they hit as well.

My son used to do this (sometimes with my help) but played a new tmnt series this summer that had printed books as part of entry.....for him anyway, it made making the hand notes notes feel really arduous...(by the 13th or so hole his notes were noticeably sparse or non-existant!).    He prefers we quickly cruise the course in a cart in late afternoon (less crowd) for practice rounds so adding his own personal notes on an already accurate yardage book saves a lot of mental energy and time.  I've found most decent courses have a yardage book in the shop that is usually pretty good for $10-25 bucks.  I'll save every penny I can, but thats really an incidental add on considering tmnt fee , travel, etc.     His game really matured the second half of this season as made using his yardage book a part of his routine (especially on approach shots - i.e....NOT going at flag most of the time).   Anyhow, I am too interested in yardage book options.
