Fitting ferrules ?

I frequently have different size ferrules that will be a little loose on certain clubs is there something you can wrap underneath them that will work with epoxy to keep them tight if they aren't a perfectly snug fit when installing?

Just use a little extra epoxy in the loose ferrules that’s all I do.

ferrules are so cheap and easy to keep. Buy a few standards at each shaft diameter. Throw in some different OD sizes and you should have some tighter fits.

If you want to secure the ferrules without disassembling the club, which is what it should like… you could just use a lot of root, but that gets messy. I’ve used and heard other mention drywall joint tape and it works well enough in place of the collared ferrule. I’ve recently started using aluminum cans that have been cut into strips. Easy to wrap around a shaft and they hold well. Whatever it is, rough it up a little with sandpaper and clean it before install to ensure a solid bond (tape excluded, obviously).

So before you install you just mark the collared part and wrap tape or aluminum around that spot inside the hosel?

If it's a one-off, I would stick a small piece of aluminum shim underneath it.  If it's a bunch of them, I might just put epoxy under them and make sure they are tight to the hosel when I set them up to cure.  Or buy a better fitting ferrule if available.

If you have a Dremel, grind some small grooves on the inside of the ferrule, and epoxy them in place. If you prep the shaft a little under the ferrule, they will never be able to move. The epoxy will lock into the grooves in the ferrule and hold them in place.
Cell parts ferrules came with internal grooves, and they could never slide.

If you're building the clubs, take an old wire brush that you use to clean hosels of clubs and abrade the inside of the ferrule.

I always prep the shaft to go up about halfway through the ferrule to get a rough surface bond on both head/ferrule. 
 

I also use a rat tail file to rough the inside by hand in ~20 seconds. No need for power tools to prep plastic.
