Blending t100/150/200

For those of you blending t100/150/200, where did you break the set and what did you do with your lofts?

Looking at t100 up to 7 or 6 iron, then more forgiveness in the long irons, but the juiced lofts and hotter faces (higher smash) in the 150 and 200 make it tough.

I got fitted to T200 5i, T150 6i bent 1 degree weak, and T100 7-GW.

Played a couple rounds and they are magical through the turf for me. I really think you can blend at whatever point works for you as long as you are hitting your flight and ball speed windows.

I went with a T200 4 iron 1 weak, T150 5-7 1 weak and then T100 8-p 1 strong. So far so good.

Mine are being delivered today.

4i and 5i T200 bent 2° weak. 6i through 9i T100 bent 1° weak. 46° SM9.

Probably be on the BST within a month if I know me. 😂

I went to a fitting last Saturday thinking I might end up with a blended set, maybe including a T100 or T150 PW and even 9 iron because I use a Vokey 50* as my gap wedge (F grind, 8* bounce) and have never been as confident with ANY club as I am with that one.

I was fitted to a set of T200’s by a really good Titleist fitter, and he advised me against the blend that I had in mind. When I mentioned it, he asked me if I would be using the PW and 9 around the green (I don’t) or only for full shots, and he said that the way Titleist does their gapping between clubs that blend would be a problem for full shots. Solvable, but a problem, and with no real upside from the numbers we got when I hit them.

Fwiw, I also tried a T350 6 iron, which is the longest iron I carry, and got worse numbers with that than I did with the T200 6 iron, so I ended up with T200’s straight thru.

Thanks, but is there a typo here? You bent t100 weak to blend them?

If my math is right, your t100 7i is 34*, and your t150 6i is 29*....how is the yardage gap between your 7 and 6 given the 5* loft gap and hotter face on the t150?

I went in expecting a full set of T200's but I was striking the T100 the best (best ballspeed in the 7 iron other than T350 which was super long despite not making clean contact) but with room to get the launch and spin down. My final set make up was U505 4 iron, T200 5 iron, and T100 6-PW all bent 2 strong.

How did you bend those to accommodate the 6* loft gap between t100 6i and t200 5i?

That's what the fitter recommended. I don't hit my 4 and 5 nearly as good as 6-9. The demo 7i was carrying 192, outdoors on trackman. I don't need a 192 7i, thus the weakening. Since I miss the center more often in the long irons, the gapping works out. I know it seems weird, but so is my game 😂

Yardage gap is good. I lose steam in the longer irons so this just helps me keep my ball speed up.

Gotcha. Curious to hear your thought process on bending t100s to t150 lofts instead of just getting t150s? I hadn't considered that.

How is the turf interaction with the 2* less bounce?

I'll find out next week. Been super busy with work.

But I was striking the ball cleaner with the T100 due to the thinner sole. I'm shallow through the ball and don't create shaft lean. So my ball speeds were better with the narrower sole. However because I present a lot of loft at impact, I was launching it too high and a bit too much spin. The fitter said try the stronger lofts, as worst way out they can be bent back. The other suggestion was try AVX.

I'm going to give them a couple of rounds, then probably get them rebuilt, pured, BB&F's, and some different grips...
