2024 PING 10K Driver Info

The fact that Champ has the 10K in his bag makes me wonder even more who this driver is aimed at. Max forgiveness plus low spin? I haven't gotten along with low spin drivers in the past but i'm a moderate swing player. Regardless, this driver has my full attention to replace my G410 Plus.

I wonder if this'll play more like the G425 Max in terms of MOI. When I tried both the 430 Max and 425 Max in my fitting I actually hit the 425 better. I typically average 260yds with it, so I'd be interested if this was either even more accurate, or if it gave a bit more distance.

 

I'm working on speed training with the Stack this winter, so it may be a good excuse to get a re-fitting in January if I see my swing speed go up by 5-10mph.

Exactly.... numbers look good, ball is in play. Those turbulators look good framing a confident tee shot.

Same boat, the LST probably doesn't fit me well, but I just hate the look of the stretched out drivers (Max and TSR2 for example).

I recall reading about the Max being 500-700rpm higher than LST. I wish I could remember where... but that's stuck in my brain. Hope someone here can validate where that was written, thought it was the em gee ess launch piece but didn't see it there. 

 

If that statement, and the above statement that 10k is 300rpm less than Max is true, 10k sits in the middle. (Just what I was hoping for too, as someone currently playing LST and was previously debating going to the Max. 🙂)

Im pretty annoyed I just bought an LST at the end of October. Sat right between the two models but felt the max was too high launching and spinning. Would have been an ideal fit in 10k if it really sits in the middle.

Have you ever spent time with the Max or TSR2 and did you hit them better? It might not be the looks. Keith Mitchell just did a podcast recently where he talked about front vs back COG's and how he's pretty sensitive to it. You might actually perform better with a more forward COG. I tend to. 

 

That said, the engineer in me is trying to understand why. What is it about my delivery that causes, this, is it small changes in shaft lean or dynamic loft caused by the rear COG? Is a rear COG "better" if you can teach yourself to deliver the club a little differently???  hmmmm.....

I did try to hit the TSR2 for ages and just never got along with it.  The real bads were still fairly straight, but the pretty good ones weren't very good.  So that very well could be the way I am.  I've historically always hit the more compact and low spin heads better (excluding TM products, because the alignment aids on all of them look to be on the heel and I cannot get over that).  After the LST Ping heads, the next best driver I've hit in the past 10 years as been the Cobra LTDx LS.

 

Very interesting concept I'll have to keep in mind when driver shopping, but honestly the G430 LST ain't going anywhere for the time being.
