Titleist online iron selector tool

This is NOT about the merits of the little survey on the website - I get it..... one should have a proper fitting........

 

My question is, has anyone taken the survey and not gotten T100?

 

I put in some pretty honest answers and keep getting T100. I even played around with my responses and still get T100. I'm not sure what the question is that pushes the response to T100.

 

I'm pretty sure T100s are not right for me in real life. I wonder why it keeps giving me that result - maybe it's to push the premium product? Are the T100s supposed to be the ones that fit the largest cross-section of people?

 

Just for fun, take it now and let me know if you get anything besides T100.

I get that too. And I think it's reasonably accurate. My only issue is that they don't ask which 7 iron you use, at least the loft of it. Because a stealth is like a 5 iron loft on many blades, etc. Maybe ask which ball too.

I retook the survey with the exact opposite answers, and got T400 at 81%.

I get CB, like everytime.  And I'm not good enough for T100.

 

(No kidding, after I bought the TSR2 hybrid at my fitting, and was screwing around with the new T100 in a Rifle 6.0, I mentioned that selector stuck me in a CB.  You could hear the eye rolling from my address position.  Lol.)

 

It's hilariously bad as a filter aid.

 

EDIT:  Just did it again.  88% MB, 86% CB.  Shrug.

 

I think it's keying off a 170 yd 7-iron, and nothing else.  I even said I wanted forgiveness!

 

As I said...really bad.

 

Now Ping's Webfit and Callaway's (less so)...aren't half bad.

T100 for me with T150 as the alternate. Weird.
The website tool is a way to get people to buy the T200 or T350 after they’ve bought and sold the T100; ha ha!

I got an MPI of 84% with at T100 as their first recommendation and an MPI of 84% for their second recommendation which was an MB. 

 

I have not tried the new version of the T100, but cant see how they would be comparable.

T150 here. I was surprised.

It seems like the question "how far do you hit your 7 iron" is the main influencer. My 7 iron distance suggests I am a much better player than I am.  The reality is that the T300 irons have low lofts.

Q5: Med or High Ball Flight (doesn't seem to matter which I choose)

Q6: Intermediate or Workable (doesn't seem to matter which I choose)

Maybe it's answering 3-iron for Q3 and a longish 7-iron that's key? 

 

(Which is the truth.  I have one and hit it acceptably.  But not far enough from my 4-iron.  Then again, the i210 is a really easy long iron to hit, IME.)

 

Edit:  Bumping to 4-iron made it pick T100 over CB, 81% to 80%.  Such precise, much wow.
