Anyone heard of Rapport shafts?

New shaft company

On the topic of obscure shaft companies, I saw a tour van for these guys (Rapport), and was wondering if anyone had any experience with Rapport brand shafts. Their shafts are usually black and have a graphic on them that looks kinda like the thing M. Campbell always has on the back of his shirts. Thanks.

They make shafts, or certainly used to, for a budget company called Progen. That's the only time I've heard of them, but they were making shafts about three or four years back so, no they're not a new brand.

Actually, Rapport has been around for 20 or so years. Rapport graphites are quality and you don't have to worry about aligning a spine or finding the neutral location when installing. The shafts are TIGHT!!! They were one of the first developers of graphite shafts and filament wound in the golf business. They have for years private labeled shafts for other shaft companies and make an excellent product on a par with the UST Aldila and Fujikuras of the world. Yes, I said the holy grail word...Fujikura...just as good if not better. The fact that they don't aggressively pursue and pay off the tour is the only reason they are not as heard of like the other companies that pay. Rapport does a lot of OEM business with club manufacturers. I have played a Rapport Advent shaft off and on over the last few years depending on what courses I am setting up to play. They have some good heavier weights that help get drivers where they should be in the D-2 to D-6 swingweight. Of course they have the SL Ultralight that is 3.5 torque and only 65 grams for the lightweight angle also. Their Advent shaft is not at all cheap and I can work the ball great with it. Their EQ and NT lines have been in the clubs of PGA players since Noah built the Ark. Check them out at www.swingsciencestore.com. Rapports prices don't break the bank but I have found building clubs for guys (both on tour and off) these shafts are awesome. Seamless Spineless technology that not lot of companies are doing. I met Mike Perryman during my time on the northside of Indianapolis. I believe Mike has an interest in Rapport. He would leave our club several times a year to pitch Rapport on the driving range on TOUR. I know he went to Bay Hill at least once. I can't speak for the shaft technically, but Perryman's reputation combined with his confidence in the product at least had me intrigued.

I have a Superlite in my Orlimar 3 wood that I kill!! Talk about cheap, I have $10 in the head and $20 in the shaft.

not a new company, as stated above; and in my opinion, the pro wound 70 is a great fwy. wood shaft performs very similarly to the infamous Fuji 857 pro-ti at a crazy low price.

I think that I met Mike (or at least one of his reps) down here in Texas. They were at my club in a Rapport van fitting irons and drivers. They really seemed to know what they were doing, and I was curious about their shafts, which looked pretty neat.

Rapport shafts are very nice and there premium line is right up there with the rest. We've sold quite a few of their ProJec series.

It's 7:20am and I was scrolling through this thread and the one poster talking about an UL 65g 3.8* torque shaft and I was soooo confused. I was like what decade am I in right now? Surely this company doesn't think 65g is still UL do they? Then I saw the date stamps and was relieved.

Used to sell the Rapport shaft really well back in the day. Got some fond memories of time spent with the staff at Rapport when the Superbowl clashed with the UPGA show in Orlando. They would take over one of the local Hooters for the duration of Superbowl and we had great parties...Happy Dayz!

Well since you asked - this new iteration of Rapport likely has nothing to do with the previous Rapport company. I emailed them about legacy shafts and they said they had no info and had only purchased the name Rapport from the previous owners.

I guess anything anybody knows about older Rapport shafts doesn't carry over here.
