Bettinardi 2024

Great release!! Really sharp, like the new headcovers and can't wait to see these in person.  Also, awesome that us Lefties got something different this go around.  A BB Wide with a sound slot is NOT something I would have expected for us LH crew but there it is.  Definitely going to be giving these a serious look in the Spring after my Queen B 6 was stolen with my vehicle earlier in the Fall.

What do you want them to do or come out with honestly? Everyone always "Oh I want something new and different" then when something new and different comes along they don't like it. You can please a picky toddler easier than WRX'ers on new club day.

It's their "basic" line you get basic shapes but seems better than other BB drops. The BB8F hasn't been done since 2011, the BB1W is new-ish and not tour only, the BB28 Slot Back is normally limited or Hive drop, the BB48 looks like a new-ish shape I haven't seen before.

Yeah it's not going to be ground breaking but it seems better than most years for the BB line.

I don’t think they need to be crazy innovative and have ground breaking ideas. But all alignment  lines are back flange… always. Never see a BB0. The notchback was a studio stock release back in 18? BB46 was exactly a SS3. No more carbon steel? I’m just saying, with the tech they have in their milling machines, it would be nice to have something that feels a bit different or perhaps an option to make little changes like the sight lines.

All good though, I do love the company.

They have to please the masses and seems like different alignments are Studio B Reserve drops.

BB0 is a Hive/Tour head, never will see it OTR so stop wishing and hoping. It's like an 009 with Cameron. You want one you have to pay for one and honestly if you're RH you can have a BB0 for a few hundred more than a BB1.

Carbon rusts and people complain that it rusts even without taking care of anything. SS leads to less calls and complaints from the masses.

They do have other options, they cost more and they're also pushing people towards their custom putters if they want something specific now. A lot of Bettinardi collectors are complaining cause before Hive and some Tour putters could be changed/refinished now that isn't happening.

Their model is simple what is OTR is for the masses, the big fan boys will drop a ton of money to get what they want and people not willing to spend are stuck in limbo.

Agreed. You cant expect for a OTR putter to check all your boxes. If you want all your wants then go custom and be done with it.

I actually have the last carbon iteration of the BB series before they went 303 stainless. Does it rust? Yep but I kinda like the process of oiling it or bluing again to get that gun blue look then patina once more. And for the alignment line, I just took off the back flange line and used a silver sharpie for a dot and problem solved.

That lefty wide is on my radar.  Kudos for Bettinardi to offer something new to us, finally.

100%. This is the shape I’ve wanted Bettinardi to offer for lefties for years. I ended up buying a Ping Anser D (essentially the same shape) because Bettinardi didn’t offer it. I’ll be going to their Oak Brook studio for a fitting and hopefully leave with one of these BB1 Wides in my specs.

Be great to hear what you think of the fitting. These look so good. I like several of them. BB1 and BB1W are clean. The ball wide pocket cavity on the BB28 may be hard to resist!

I owned a gorgeous DASS Tour proto. I think it was called an M-360??? Kinda a mid mallet. It had the really unique honey comb looking face. Looks like they have gone completely away from that. Wish I woulda held onto it.

They do different face millings on different lines. The honeycomb is on the Queen Bee line and is now a Mini Honeycomb which is the same pattern but a smaller shape and it’s really nice. Better than ever IMO. But I also do like what they have done on this new BB line. I would love to visit their headquarters.

I’m interested in their refinements to precisely locate center of gravity on these putters. Would like to see how that feels in hand.

Think I'm going to order the BB28 early next year, I love that shape!

I really should/need to stick with one putter though lol

I am kind of glad they don’t personally. But I can understand why people want it.

As they don't have a carbon model anymore to differentiate between the lines , I think either the BB or the SS should have moveable weights. But they definitely don't believe in it. They also won't create a fitting kit, if you want to be fit they want you to go to them.

I still think they are one of the best at milling, I just think they need to update their approach. For me, I think the off the rack Ping PLD putters have overtaken them now for quality.
