Skytrak - wifi devices, which is best? I'm not projecting to a screen

I will receive a original Skytrak at Christmas. I know they have apps for Apple iOS, Windows 10/11 and Android. My question is about the devices that work with Skytrak. My garage will be set up with a net and a device mounted on a camera tripod.

iPad - how old can you go and it still works with Skytrak?

Android - which tablet works?

Windows 10/11 - not interested, as I want to use something smaller than a traditional laptop.

Anyone have success using a Chromebook (I already have one)? I've searched online and it appears there is a wifi connection issue, but the posts were from 2018, 5 years ago, so maybe technology caught up.

I think my likely choice will be an iPad, just not sure how new it has to be.

why not a surface tablet ;} i personally have an old dell tablet that i connect via usb. chrome book might also work via usb.

Thanks, I'll give it a look. USB on the Chromebook might work, I will consider too. I do like the idea of wireless for both the Skytrak and a tablet.

I used it on a Droid tablet (galaxy something) and it was slow over wifi and unsatisfying in general. Tried a chromebook and it didnt work. I broke down and repurposed an old gaming PC and it is very fast. SkyTrak is connected to PC. I use E6 though to play and no idea how that would be on a tablet - i imagine poorly. E6 seems to be resources-intensive. I didn't want a PC either but it works so much better.

Thanks. Adult child remembered they still have an old iPad. It's new enough to be on the compatible list, so since it is free, it I'll use it. As I will be in the garage, I am trying to be the least intrusive for use as a garage, but make time from start to hitting golf balls as short as reasonable. I have some ideas for a hanging net, a drop cloth or mattress topper wall protector, and side nets (sides will either hinge fold out, or stretch to mounting points). I have a used golf range mat and a camera tripod. Plan is to have a tri pod mount for the iPad running off wifi. In MI, so in a garage during the winter either means a short practice time or some form of portable heat source.

Ditto in NE. I use one of those kerosene heaters that looks like a cylinder on its side. It heats rapidly and takes about 10 minutes to warm up the garage.
