TaylorMade Qi-10 Fairway Woods! In-Hand Pics!

Stealth 2+ is on the right and I measured the face from sole to paint line at the top of the white alignment mark to be 1.44" vs. 1.46" on the Qi-10. I loved the Stealth 2+, but from address the Qi-10 Tour is much cleaner!

Do you by chance have an idea on lie angles for these? Use to play a lot of TaylorMade woods in the past but to me the lie angles just got to be too upright compared to some Titleist or Callaway woods. Last TM 3wood I had was tour issue original M2 that was built for me, open face and flat, I was in love with that club for 3.5yrs till it cracked. Have never had a club like it since:(

Is there any reason why taylormade doesn't stock any 80g x flex shafts for the normal consumer? Yes I know the ventus black 7x is technically 80g and they have the hzrdus black 80 but I've been trying to just order a fairway wood from them with a ventus TR blue 8x and seems impossible.

Probably because it's a niche weight/flex and it's not worth the hassle for them to carry inventory when they know you can just order whatever custom shaft you want really easily.

I am in the same boat for 80 stiff. Only option is the Ventus TR Blue. Callaway does a fantastic job of offering Tour AD DI or AD IZ in 80 stiff as well when looking for 80 stiff options.

If you are demanding an 80g X flex shaft... I'm sorry, but you are not a "general consumer."

Cut the OEM's some slack man. This crap ain't easy.

Any info on the Tensei Blue AV "Limited Edition" version that comes stock in the tour model?  I imagine the limited designation is just because it's "made for" TM and is just a basic AV series shaft.

I'd assumed it was just a different paint job, but the specs on TM's website show it's very slightly lighter weight than the AV X-Link 75. 🤷‍♂️

Here is the Qi-10 Tour (left) next to the Qi-10. I also measured with some calibers and from the sole to where the crown meets the face is 1.46" vs 1.35", so the Tour is just slightly deeper.

I dunno why I just noticed this, but that looks like a really long hosel in the core model?  Anyone had one of these apart yet?  Either that's a really long insertion depth or the BBTG measurement has to be considerably different?   Gotta feel like that's going to me considerable difference in the feel with same-same shafts.

Really interesting they would do that.

I'm pretty sure it's a XLink AV Blue with a Matte paintjob.

But the Black must be different because the OG blacks claimed to have 1K in the handle & the TM Black does not.

very interested to see what you think of this. Seem to be pretty mixed reviews from what I’ve seen but I have not kept a close watch on this release. I like the shape of them.

I noticed the review thing as well, It seems to be too low spin compared to the S2P.  It absolutely "Looks" amazing, but is seems like they need to release a 3+ 16.5 to make people like me want in.  I absolutely LOVE my S2P it just behaves like a 3 wood should behave.  I can put a number of swings on it and I have a good idea where it will land and how it will land each and every time.

Going to hit it in depth this weekend. I love the look of it similar to the LS driver. Hopefully the AD DI is a great fit for the head since it's a little more higher launching of a shaft and I will likely start with the weight all the way back and start to creep it forward as needed. I'm pretty honest about things so if it sucks I will let yall know LOL.

Please report back cause I love the look at address as well & as you can see I play a more oldschool Mid/Mid heavy shaft in my fairways as well.

Its a deep enough face that you kinda get options.  You can tee it at ground level and have the spin or you can tee it up a little bit and drop the spin.  With the weigh forward, I could get sub 3K rates out of it. Granted, my SS with it is only in the mid-upper 90s with it. The biggest fight I had with it was shutting the face down and getting some toe hooks with it at stock FA settings. I dont blame the club as I think coming from a rocket head seeing loft is something I have to het used to, but opening the face a click and moving the weight back seemed to help a bunch when I played yesterday. Not sure if one or both of those helped, or if I just swung it better. Stock shaft does feel blueboardy to me which is why I am not the hugest fan of the handle stiffness.  I also have a DI for it now, just arrived a day late thanks to FedEx. Grumble grumble.

I do not get along with shallow faced fairway woods. I'd love to play a G430 max but had an awful experience with one last year. I have usually played the lower spin Callaway 3 wood and have had really good success with Callaway fairways in the past. When I tried the triple diamond Paradym I couldn't get the spin down no matter how hard I tried (Rogue ST LS was perfection and I regret selling that thing).

I agree the Qi10 Tour has a deep enough face where it will likely perform very well with tee shots yet be versatile enough from the fairways. When I compared the head to a Paradym AI Smoke TD they were very similar in profiles with different shaping.

Yeah, I am just commited, for now, to this being primarily a tee club and my 17* UW being my off the deck club. The last deep face head I tried was a ‘small head’ M4.  I personally do terrible with deep woods off the deck long term. I can, odds for success are just a bit against me. If the lie is good or I just want max distance, then its still an option. Couple that with the fact for now I am leaving it at 43.25”.  I am essentially treating it more mini-driver ish than I am as a fairway wood.   I only carry three wedges off a 48* PW so I kinda have the extra bag spot to go this route.

For anyone that’s tested it has this been more fade bias? I currently have the stealth plus’s and they seem to be somewhat left bias.

It tends to draw for me, but I typically always draw fairways and prefer a slight fade to drivers and draw for teeing fairway clubs.  Pretty sure that’s all me and how I swing them vs a driver as opposed to the head itself.  That’s really how I prefer it to be anyway so never tried to fight it.   I can hit fades with it so I would consider it fairly neutral in limited experience.

Complete gee-wizz info but might be helpful to someone.  I heard a soft rattle today in my 3 wood after playing it on Tues.  Never actually identified what it was as it either fell out and I missed it, or it caught up in some rattle stop if they are still actually using it.  Time will tell.

What I did find out, is there is 4 ways into the tour head...lol.  The weight screw extends into the head, the head weight itself, and like previous years with their drivers, there is a cut out/access point inside the hosel that also allows access.  Makes me wonder why there is still also a hot melt port on the toe side.

Just might be helpful for those that add melt to their heads, maybe have the same issue, or just an FYSA in case you are cleaning them that water can potentially enter from any of those locations.

Pretty cool combo to test. Curious what the sw is?

Playing length is 42.75 with a D4 sw. I’ve only hit a few balls with it so far into the field behind me. So can’t really say about distance or anything but the ball flight was incredible. Everyone wants little tiny fairways but I actually like the bigger ones because I like to hit them off the tee quite a bit. And this thing almost looks like a mini driver but looks like it will be easy to hit off the deck as well. It kinda reminds of the Callaway Bertha mini driver they had many years ago.
