He'll look good doing it, too!

Not betting on Hovland.  When you are winning more than you are losing, WTF are you doing changing your swing?

Holy crap, did this post appear even before the Valero?   How did I miss it, my favorite week in sports!

Perhaps your best write-up in a long history of excellent PGAT intros @MattyO1984

Valero made it first but…only just! 😂

Yes Matty O!  Looking forward to the Masters, my third favorite major of the year, but a great one.

Going to need some more on this one…respective Opens ahead of it?

Schauffele seems due. Zalatoris and Cam Young would be interesting developments. Would love to see JDay show up.

And, of course, seeing Big Cat anywhere near contention on Sunday would lift the roof.

Ya and BK will show up

Just hoping we get some kind of Sunday shoot out coming in. Wanna see some swings, some action yo!

Rory gotta get in the mix here too

I'm still reeling from that debacle at the Masters last year. Rahm won by four at -12 and the sixty-year-old Mickelson took second place at -8. Talk about disappointing.

Then the winner politely took his talents to SA.☹

I think you need to go "The Open" #1, after all it's the original.  Then I'd go US.  Personally I like the fact that these tournaments move around.  PGA is barely hanging on with major status.  They need to go abroad on occasion IMO.

PGA barely hanging on? Based on what?

Hey man it's just one guy's opinion so it's not personal.  I feel like the PGA is going further into fourth place.  The US Open's brand is the championship of the USA at the country's best (and maybe snootiest) courses.  The PGA's brand is match play...wait, the last major...wait, glory's last shot...wait, now a tournament played sometimes at somewhat uninspiring courses (Valhalla, Quail, etc.) in May?  I feel like it's lost a lot of shine going to May and others have told me the same.  It needs an identity - and I don't think the "strongest field" is it.  It's always had that.  Maybe go abroad every 3-5 years and make it the world's major.  That should grow the game.  Heck, maybe even take the top 4-16 and have match play.  Just some ideas but the PGA is a distant fourth.  Doesn't mean it's a bad tournament.  I'll still watch.

Thank you. I agree with you in that move to May was bad. I say terrible. I also don't disagree that moving overseas once every 4 or 5 years wouldn't be a bad idea either.

I just don't think it's hanging on by a thread. It's still a darn good major even if it's the fourth favorite.

Professional Golfers Association of America.  Not of Europe.  Not of Asia.  Not of Australia.  They aren't going to hold their tournament outside of America.

That's fine.  It can wallow at the bottom.  I'll still watch some, albeit less at Valhalla and Quail.

That´s true, but the question is rather if that tournament should have Major status. I think it should. Even if it would make sense to give the fourth to some tournament in say Asia. But since there aint any tournament there that comes close the PGA is the best bet, even if Players is a contender.

Who won't win.

Philbert - no longer has the game.

Brucey - no longer gets to just turn it on from the off position.

DJ - just doesn't have the drive which leads to mindset.

Rhambo - going to try too hard.

Sergiooo - too may rooting against him.

And - I reserve the right to edit this post at any time the narrative dictates.  😂

Yep, it's the PGA of America.  Going abroad would be stupid and no reason to ever do it.  "Growing the game" is code for "I don't really have anything to say on the subject".

You don't have to like it, heck, I think the move to spring was stupid and just a "cave in" to Finchem's reach around season and the "playoffs" and the faux nod to the Olympics.

It hasn't had the strongest field forever - but indeed the past many years and it has seen increasing more significant venues.

Can't tall anyone what to like - but "move it abroad" - never.

Would love to see them take it to Royal Melbourne or Kingston Heath every once in a while.  Way more compelling than Valhalla.
