MacGregor Don White Custom Wedges

Recommended Posts

Alright... the Don White Custom Grind Wedge Presale begins! This truly priceless opportunity is only $109.99 for our GolfWRX members- and as usual, we pick up the freight.

http://www.mortongolfsales.com/MacGregor_G...m_pre_order.htm

Morton Golf Sales is pleased to present our newest Special Order Opportunity. We will have Legendary Club Maker and Master Craftsman, Don White, at the Haggin Oaks Golf Complex on April 25, 26, and 27. We are offering a PRE-ORDER opportunity for your chance to own a custom wedge! Please note that these wedges will not ship until after April 28, 2008. Due to the custom nature of this offering, returns will not be accepted except due to manufacturer defects. Due to possible unforeseen circumstances, Morton Golf Sales, reserves the right to cancel any pre-orders due to issues outside of our control. Credit Cards will NOT be charged until product is shipped.

The wedges used for this event are made out of 410 forged stainless steel. They are made out of a different material than the stock MT Pro Wedges and Custom Grind Wedges (1025 carbon steel/chrome plated), so that they can take a custom grind without the potential for rusting. These wedges look and feel no different than the others in MacGregor's line. They will have the same shaft and grip as MacGregor's stock wedges.

Don White

Master Craftsman

Clubmaker's Hall of Fame

Club Maker for Wins in 12 Championships

If you have never heard of Don white, you're not alone. He's one of golf's best kept secrets. But if you ask some of the most legendary players in golf like Greg Norman "If you could choose anyone in the world to make you a set of irons, whom would you choose?" Don White's name would be one of the first you'd hear.

White began hand grinding irons for MacGregor Golf more than 30 years ago. As Chief Club Maker, White is adept at sculpting the master models that are used for the mass production of irons. You can see his work first hand in the 2008 MT PRO-M and PRO-C iron sets and Pro Series wedges. White was inducted into the Professional Clubmaker's Society Hall of Fame in 2001 and has ground irons used to win 12 Championships including 2 Grand Slams over the course of his career.

Can we elect to have the black wedge listed on the website ground? I don't mind the potential for rust. -Thanks

At this point, they're only doing the current MT offered in the satin finish.

PS- I'm working on the other questions at the moment and will hopefully have answers today or tomorrow.

I am surprised they still have a tour dept. when they have no tour staff other than Greg Norman.

Yeah, Mac may turn out to be the smartest of them all, after all, if

you don't have TW, who do you have? Let us, the paying customers

be the staff. Just make us some fine sticks and let us make up our

own minds. A novel concept, right.

I'd love to develop a "consumer staff" as you guys are the one's that pay the bills, not the Tour Players. At MacGregor, we do not feel like we are entitled to your business. We want to earn it and we are confident that we can make the best quality/performing product in the world to benefit any level of player. I've spent my entire career in the golf equipment industry and can promise you that no Company is now more committed to giving golfers great looking and performing golf equipment with no marketing fluff. We are listening to you (that's why I'm here) and look forward to working with you. Give us a shot and I'm confident we'll exceed your expectations. If your local shop doesn't currently carry MacGregor, tell them that you're interested...and let me know who they are so we can call them immediately to fuel the fire.

Thanks again to everyone that has been interacting on GolfWrx.com. We appreciate it (even the pessimists!).

Take care,

Hi Reid

Can you let us know in Australia what is happening re MacGregor distribution. I am very interested in the new irons in particular but the staff in our local chains mumble something about new distribution channels needing to be sorted out prior to release of new lines and "don't expect anything before July".

Any news for us? Thanks for your interest in forum and it's members, we'll reward Macgregor as best we can.

Hi guys. I have actually been a long time member of this forum (had to make a new accout after GolfWrx changed the log in process), but I am more of a silent "Ho". These questions go out to R.Gorman or anyone else that may have the answer to these questions. First, the custom wedges that Sakman had made, what finishes does MacGregor offer? Second, the custom irons that Macgregor offers, are they just the custom MT Pros? The custom options available on the irons, are they limited to the ones that were shown on the chart?
