Nike SasQuatch 2 Fairway Wood

 

The Nike SasQuatch 2 Fairway Wood features Monorail Sole Design which cuts through all types of lies. Weight has been added to the perimeter of the Power Bow to move the center of gravity back and offer a higher MOI. A new cryo steel face provides a larger and hotter sweet spot.

I orginally started with the T-60. Very solid feeling wood but didn't care for the head shape and face. I then switched to the SQ which I liked a whole lot better than the T-60. The only draw back was that I wasn't consistent with it as I would've liked. Could've been a shaft issue as the ones I were using were a tad too heavy.

When the SQII came out, I hit it at the store and couldn't believe how good it felt and that I couldn't really hit a bad shot. (Now the last time I demo'd a club that was money in the store ended up being horrible and was the only club I had bought brand new.)

I eventually traded my SQ for the SQII and shafted it up with a V2. I never took any practice swings with it before I took it out on the course. I've never had a 3 wood that was really reliable off the deck, but I decided to take my first shot by hitting it off the deck. I was totally amazed-the shot took off like a dart and was probably the longest 3 wood shot (off the deck) that I had ever hit. As mentioned before, I haven't had much success with that particular shot so it's no stretch to say that it was the longest. I really thought it was a fluke. I get to the next hole and tee it up. Again, the shot took off like a dart and did exactly what I wanted it to do. I chalked it up as being a nice honeymoon day. The next time I went out, I used it on a short par 4-270 yards. Drove the green. I haven't had that much distance and that much control with a 3 wood since my Callaway VFT Pro. The exception is that I can hit it off the deck just as good as I can hit it off the tee. This club is probably the most amazing club I've hit to date. I ususally don't have a favorite club as I usually like everything in my bag. At this time, the SQII is my favorite club (now and of all time).

Did you notice that Tiger switched to this as soon as it came out? I was surprised since I originally thought the two were very similar. After putting one into play, the SQII outperforms the SQ easily.

I picked one of these up on a demo program and will be buying as soon as I can afford it. I demoed a 5 wood sasquatch 2 with a regular shaft since the stiff shaft was not available. I also demoed a tour edge bazooka 5 wood, a cleveland hibore 5 wood, and a cobra ld f-speed.

 

The Sasquatch came out on top in all categories on a launch monitor and also at the course. The only complaint I had was the spin category if I didn't finish a shot. I had been using a 5 wood from my first set of clubs before this. I never hit a 5 wood 260 before, but reached this a couple times. The tour edge was a surprising second place in distance category and forgiveness.

 

The 5 wood also sets up a little closed for a nice draw on tight driving holes.

 

The only complaint which works well for shaping is that when I hit it bad, I REALLY had to search to find it.

I couldn't get rid of my TM R9 3 wood fast enough after I hit my brothers SQ2 3 wood. It is the 15 degree with the stock stiff Diamana shaft. It sets up good, has a great trajectory, and pretty much goes where I point it. Great club.
