KZG Z/O Irons

Any feedback?

Any feedback, pro/con on the KZG Z/O irons. Feel, quality, craftsmanship, playability, etc... Any info would be nice. :)

I have a partial set of ZO Blades (5-AW), and have played them sparingly over the past season and a half. I've been a KZG fan, having owned most of their irons at one time or another. They are high quality irons, and arguably one of the best looking blade designs out there.

Feel: I would put these on par with my Mizuno blades. They've felt slightly better, depending on which shafts I had installed.

Accuracy: They are a larger blade head, and are forgiving in that regard. I played 5-PW because I couldn't hit the 4i with any degree of reliabilty (just me!).

Workability: I play the straight ball, so can't comment on this. My playing partners have been able to hit shots on demand, but not me.

I think that only negative that I've found has been that these don't feel as "meaty" as other blades I've played. They don't give me much confidence coming out of the thick stuff. I REALLY would like to be playing these regularly, but my MP-60's are doing just fine.

If you're not concerned about resale, or if you want a solid, clean blade design, these would fit the bill. Good luck.

I love my kzgs, and I think it's a combination of the nippon shaft and the kzg forgings. This is the best feeling combo I've ever hit, and I've hit miuras, titleist, rams, and mizunos with everything from rifles to TCIs to DGs. Since the nippons launch high, and the kzg's have a lower muscle, I had the lofts bent down 2-3 degrees, and added a gap wedge instead of keeping a 2 iron. I added some swingweight compared to my last set, and I don't worry about hitting these out of grass.

These clubs want to launch for me--not as easy to hit a knock down with these as with other blades I've played, but it may be the shaft. On the flip side, these are some of the easiest blades I've found to hit long and straight. Clean lines, nice craftsmanship--my clubfitter had no problem bending lofts 3 degrees and lie up 3-4 degrees, and he said the facyory has said 5 is not a problem and 8 dedgrees on lie has been done.
