does it work?

i was wondering if anyone was using this and what do they think of it? i'm looking for some sort of training aid, mainly at for at home when i've got a few minutes. i am looking for swing plane control and help with my release. is this a good choice or is there something better?

I use one. It does help for somethings just like all training aids, but I don't know if it's the best training aid out there. It does help with setting the club early (at the 9 o'clock posistion) and releasing the club accordingly. The main thing that it helped me with was swing plane. There is a metal dowel that comes out of the end of the grip that you can pull out, oh, maybe 8"-10", and it really helped me making a wide takeaway, and starting my swing with my shoulders. It is a good training aid, you just gotta watch the video so you know how do use it.

I picked one up for the main reason of helping me set my hands quicker on the back swing. It's also helped me get my tempo up because if you swing it back too slow, the top ball doesn't split. I agree with Kasco...in that it really helps those with release problems too. I know my brother in law tried it and it showed him immediately how poor his release was. I'm sure if he used it more often he'd probably get a lot more distance.....but then that might mean I'd stop taking his money...he'll have to buy his own. :)

i personally dont think it would work for me. You guys mentioned it helped to set the wrists at the 9 o'clock position. me and my coach find that swing method can create a vicious hook if you do not lower your plane significantly enough. creates too much inconsistency for me.

i picked one up and used it for a couple of days and then played a couple of rounds and noticed a difference. i was hitting the ball longer and more consistent with it. also noticed my ball flight was lower as well. i'm real happy with it. it has allowed me to improve the release of the club and also helped with chiping and pitching. the instructional video is very useful as well. i will recommend this.
