Just stupid easy to hit - I was on a simulator at the local PGA Superstore and testing out the 4 hybrid with both the stock stiff and regular shaft. For reference my swing speed was around 85 or so with this club. Hit about 20 balls with each club. The groupings were very similar - no more than about 10 yards off the center line for any shot, which is a pretty tight dispersion for me (12 handicap).

 

The only real difference for me between the stiff and regular was I was hitting the regular about 10 yards further and the regular had a softer feel at impact - could feel the shaft working - not so much with the stiff. If anything I was hitting the regular a little too far for the gaps I am trying to close with the hybrid search. Was hitting the regular shafted club about 190 - 200 yards total distance with 5 - 8 yards of that being rollout.

 

So the challenge now is to decide which ones to get - the 3 and 4, 4 and 5, or 3 and 5. Will have to review my other distances and make the call, but I certainly plan to put 2 of these in my bag this year. I already have a Hibore XL 1i in the bag with a Platinum Hybrid shaft that I love off the tee and can hit about 230 - 235 (ditched the 3 wood a while back for this club - just never hit the 3 wood that consistent off the tee and off the deck was even worse)

it's a decent club that i use primarily from a fluffy lie when in the rough (a place that i am quite used to). fantastic club-- everything i hit goes straight and, from the rough, carries around 220 when i really pure it.

From the rough they perform , but from a tight lie in the fairway I really struggle with these.

I know it is probably me but my Alpha hybrids I never hit thin.

Well I was right ,it was my swing. Glad I kept these ,they are money.

I have had good results with the 3 . Launches high and soft, still trying to judge usual distance but so far has been between 190 and 210.

Yes. I used to own this set (still have them also - PM if interested!)

 

But these want to go dead straight. I probably hit the best 5 iron in my life with one of these. 165 from the right rough and knocked it to 15 feet in a huge divot on the green. Wonderful clubs.

i PLAY THE 3,4,5 AND LOVE THEM, THEY ARE A EASY HIT FROM ANYWHERE. MINE ARE REGULAR FLEX AND FIT MY 95 MPH DRIVER SWING SPEED PERFECT. aLSO HAVE THE SUMO2 FAIRWAY WOOD WITH R FLEX BUT IT FEELS A LITTLE WEAK.

I have used the 3 for a year or so and it is automatic. Stupid easy to hit. I can't imagine any club replacing it anytime soon

I am a former 9 index and have started playing again after a year layoff. Have the [b]3[/b], [b]4[/b], and [b]5 Sumo2 hybrids[/b] and love them! My driver SS is in the 90's so I choose to play a regular flex shaft. The ball flight is nice and high. Shots fly very straight. Much higher and straighter than the Callaway X hybrids I was playing. Not to say you can't move the ball side to side, because you can. You still need a good swing for good results. But your bad shots are a lot better with these hybrids. Impact feels solid and sound is very nice. I hit the Cleveland, Callaway, Adams and Cobra and these are by far my favorite. They are hands down a more forgiving club.

I just purchased the Sumo2 4 fairway wood, so I'll post a review when I get a chance...
