Input needed on Mizuno MP 37 (versus MP 29, MP 33)

Opinions solicited on comparisons before I get new set

I have played MP 29's for 6-7 years, S300, love them and replacing them as they are worn out. I hit a medium/boring trajectory. I am likely going with the MP 37 as the most similar club from what I have found but wanted some feedback on this from experienced folks:

- The MP 33, I understand, has a slightly higher center of gravity and tend to be used by people hitting a higher ball who need to keep it down? Is this true? (I don't have that problem).

- I wonder why most Mizuno tour players using baldes pay the MP 33 and few play the MP 37...I am guessing as they produce more clubhead speed and spin, they need to keep the ball down.

- Anything else I missed that I should consider?

My take...

As to the models being played on tour...the chief design guy for Mizuno is a friend of mine and he has mentioned more than once that one of the main reasons that they are playing the 33s is that that particular set actually has a higher ballflight than the 37s and on the tour they need all the carry they can get because the golf courses they are playing are so hard and fast. Couple that with the harder golf balls that most are playing now and it's a good combination.

I currently play with MP-37s w/ DGX100 w/ Sensicores. I won't even consider a shaft that doesn't have the Sensicore feature after playing with these.

The difference in ball flight is really negligible on a regular swing. The 33s have a slightly longer head from heel to toe and a slightly thinner topline which, to my eye, gives them more of a "low profile" look than the 37s. The offset is only about .01 mm different thru the set, and I can't really tell the difference.

Where I can feel the difference, though, is how the club feels thru the ground. I tend to take much deeper divots with the 33s than the 37s. I like that because it is easier for me to control the trajectory with the 37s than with the 33s.

All in all, you can't go wrong with either, but my preference is the 37s...try them both, make sure that you get fitted for the right shaft, lie, weight and grip size and you'll be in high cotton with either one...
