Order J33 460cc 1" short

I'm currently playing an R510 TP with 757 stiff and it's head and shoulders better than the other drivers I've tried (pretty limited selection - just returned to playing after 5 year abscence from golf). I'm thinking of getting a J33 460, and I'd like a 44" driver instead of the default 45". I notice on the Bridgestone golf web site they list options of +- 1". Does anyone know if they reweight or pick heavier heads to bring the swingweight back up to D3 if I order it 1" short from the factory?

Also, does anyone have an idea on factory prices with the Speeder? I notice it's one of the custom shaft options. Diamana 63 is also listed, but not 83. I tend to like a heavier shaft - anyone heard of them putting in an 83 on special order?

The reason I'm asking is I'm debating doing a special order vs. just getting one with an NV65 and paying for a good clubmaker to put an aftermarket shaft in it (Rombax?). I'm also thinking of moving the Speeder from my R510 TP to my Sonartec 2.5 3 wood - anyone have an idea how this would play at a shorter 42"? I have the older (non-Tour Platform) shaft (Penley?) in there now.

I ordered my J33R 460 @ 44 1/4" with D4 swingweight and it was perfect. The driver came with the factory NV because I planned on experimenting with a few different shafts.

I am not sure on the upcharge for the Speeder 757 but it should be very reasonable. Bridgestone has some of the lowest upcharges for custom shaft options. As for the Diamana, the 63 is the only option currently available through their custom department.

I just ordered my J33R 460 and was quoted $360 with a Fuji 757 and $400 with a Diamana.

Wow - that was lightening fast and super-helpful! Thanks to both of you - that was exactly what I wanted to know. I think I'll order a factory 757 at 44" with D4.

FYI- Back order situation with the diamana (end of month); and they can reweight (add only) for a desired swingweight.

Back order with the Fuji's too. They told me both the diamana and fuji wouldn't ship until the end of January. I don't think I can wait that long!

I just ordered it from the local Golfsmith today - a little more than some ($375 with Speeder) but I like giving them the business since they are pretty helpful. They told me the shortage was in the 460 head, and not shaft related, so order won't be filled to early Feb. Luckily I'm in no hurry. I asked for it to be D4 at 44", and she said BS wouldn't know if they could do it until it reached the production dept, so I just made sure they would call me or cancel it if it couldn't make at least D3 for any reason. Sounds like I don't have anything to worry about. Thanks for all the help guys!

BTW Anyone think else $75 to upgrade from NV65 to a Speeder is a pretty good deal? I though Speeder's were still going for $200+, compared to $90 or so for an NV65.

I thought it was a great deal.. especially the diamana upgrade for only $100.. I just can't handle the 63, it feels way too light, and I wasn't about to pay $300 when then 757 still plays just fine.
