Is the Wispersoft line of rainsuits discernably better than the Featherweight line for the extra money? How much thicker/heavier is the wispersoft line? Thanks in advance?

IS the Wispersoft line the most expensive? And Featherweight line the step lower?

I have felt them both and need to know before comenting. The have a lot of models. The rain gear has a couple of lines. The top of the line stuff is equal weight and has a lot of bells and wistles the step lower doesnt. A super thin liner for instance. Also the sleeves come off. Also some other tricks. Same shell weight from memory.

Then there are all the softer suede fabrics that are all together different.

That is correct, the Wispersoft is the more expensive line compared to the featherweight line. Look forward to your comments!

I think the problem is that few people get to compare the different materials side by side, as most shops don't carry a lot of their stuff. I have the whisper soft (and think it's terrific), but I ordered it from their catalog. Compared to their regular goretex stuff the biggest difference is the weight, as both are "quiet". What I can't help you with is how "noisy" their featherweight is.

Thanks for your response. Do you find that the wisper soft is noticably heavier than the featherweight line (which, I assume, is what you are referring to when you say their regular gortex?) Thanks in advance!

I have the whisper quiet and think its incredible. I wear it on vacation because of the flexibilty of the jacket. I especailly like it on theme park water rides, keeps me really dry. When its warm, I just unzip the sleeves. Its not a light as a windbreaker but, its lighter than a Columbia Rain Jacket I used. I've worn my ZR in the Tahoe Winters and Florida sun. I am going to talk to Proimage about getting a ZR jacket with the WRX logo on it.
