Taylor Made RAC FE0203 Wedge

Black Finish?

Howdy all,

My local pro shop has a used RAC 56* FE0203 wedge with a Rifle Spinner shaft in a black finish (clubhead). There is no Y-Cutter insignia on the face, and was just wondering if this is tour issue? I've seen the FE0203 at retail locations, but only in a bronze finish.....never in black. Pro shop has it tagged at $60. I'm thinking of picking it up.

Can anyone provide some info on this black FE0203?

Definately retail. Must have the Y on the face OR two dots on the hosel for it to be tour-issue.

Agree with 857 Pro-Ti

I play a Black Fe203 that is pre- Y-cutter and no dots and know that it is tour issue.

okay, call me confused, :birthday: but i thought the fe0203 was the "oil can-raw finish" model and isn't the black a black nickel finish? i thought it was one or the other, but not both.

All of the left-handed black y-cutters have FE203 on them. It's a carbon head in a black finish that will rust.

you should definitely get it...

it is tour stuff and definitely a cool stuff to own..

yes indeed.......$60. Went in there yesterday and they still had it. Looks like this wedge is meant for me. I'll have to stop in there and pick it up!

This is correct. Mine is not a Y-cutter but has tour box grooves.

Hey all,

Went back to the pro shop and they still had the wedge. Picked it up and walked out the door for $65.

Excellant condition. No dings or anything of the sort.....looks as if it even has a milled face!

Yes, the Fe2O3 range in black finish is 100% tour, as to the shape of the grooves, it deps. All of these wedges that I have played in the past had milling marks on their faces too. Good Pick-up there - chip it near!!

Correct me if i am wrong but isn't the fe203 basiaclly an oil, raw, buyig bc I want it to rust wedge?

Why would they make a black one then?

I believe that the wedge will still ust albeit a little slower compared to the oil quench variety. I guess the black finish was applied to it bcos some players wanted it but in essence the club will still rust.
