New Aldila shaft...

It's supposed to fall between the NV and NVS

Has anyone heard anything on a new Aldila shaft that is supposed to fill the gap between the NV and the NVS? I hit a prototype a few weeks back at a golf show and loved it. I hit a 65g in a driver and an 80g in a fairway wood. The Aldila reps didn't have much info other that it should be out in the summer. It was blue in color, if that helps anyone out.

Aldila VS prototype, not too sure on the specifics of this shaft other than what you already stated, theres a few guys on here that have it in their drivers and stuff. Its supposed to be a very quality shaft.

...at the moment it it called the "VS Proto" , but that will change soon. btw, there is also a 95 hybrid version as well. it's to be released the first quarter of this year. unbelievable shaft!!! but i would not call it a between an nv and nvs. it has a tip stiffness that is softer than the nv, yet not as soft as the nvs. however the materials are toatally new. it has 2.1* of torque in the 80 and 2.8* in the 65. the kick point is much lower and it produces a higher flight with less spin.

What color is it? It would be cool if it was a dark navy. It would go well with the pibk, orange, and green. :birthday:

It is, do a search on here you may be able to see it but it is like a midnight blue. very normal looking shaft.

how would this shaft compare to the Grafalloy Blue?

like weight, flex, torque, etc

i didnt like the NV, and didnt like the NVS

but this one sounds pretty good

they are quite different... the NV is probably more like the blue than the VS will be... the VS will have a higher traj. and not as overall stiff feeling.

if we are talking about the same shaft as i think..this is very popular in the nickent hybrids...suppose to retail for 300 plus.....

... as i said, the vs proto's use new materials, and they will be more expensive than the nv/nvs... but nowhere near $300.

I'm very interested in this shaft, but my swing speed is a little much for most X's. Does anyone know what swing speeds the VS proto X is made for?

...as a shaft fitting guide, swingspeeds and styles are comparable to the nv. it will have a higher flight of course, but whatever flex you'd play in an nv, is what you'd use in the vs proto...

...i'd tell ya yodog, but then i'd have to kill ya!!! ; )
