Opinions on carry bags

In the market for a new carry bag w/stand.....any opinions, suggestions. Currently have a Titleist X-57, but by the time I load all my "stuff" into it, it gets a little heavy by about the 15th hole! What bag does everybody use and do you like it or wish you had a different one? I'm looking at going back to the Pings....had an old L8 before and really liked it. Don't know why I changed! Thanks for your input

TaylorMade R7 Stand bag. Plenty of storage and best of all, enough room inside to prevent club tangle. It's probably not the lightest stand/carry, but worth a look.

I use an Ogio vision and love it. Thier club dividers are pretty good. If I am ever in the market for another bag I would probably go a bit higher on their line. I think it is the Ogio Grom that has the zipperless ball pocket. As many balls as I go through I need quicker access :)

When shopping for the bag I have now I avoided club manufacturer bags (Nike, TM, Ping, etc.). Even though I have a few Taylor Mades and Nikes I figured there could come a day when I don't have any. Silly as it sounds, I don't want to have a bag by a company where I don't use any of their clubs.

I have an Ogio Featherlite which is the girls version of the Vaporlite. These two bags are both really light and well organized with the Woode System. I would recommend any Ogio bag. Some of them are heavier and some are lighter but they all look cool and are comfortable to carry. My school's bag is a Ping Hoofer Extreme, I wouldn't recomend it though because the straps are kind of uncomfortable and it is hard to adjust. Plus the strap that stays up all the time is a little weird.

Ogio Vaporlite 3.95 lbs.

Ogio Grom 6.3 lbs

Another option is Sun Mountain. They have some lighter bags that still look cool.

Sun Mountain Superlight 3.5 3.5 lbs.

i had an Ogio Grom (6.3 lbs) and it did get quite heavy by the 15th. This Xmas, i got a Titleist x-56 which is a little lighter and easier to carry. on the other hand, the ogio was the best abg i've ever had in terms of the way the clubs fit into the bag. my suggestion is to stay away from the Grom, its just oo heavy.

I have the Grom and I think it's a great bag. It is a little on the heavy side of carry bags, but you have plenty of pockets for your stuff. I personally don't think it's bad in terms of carrying though. I do a lot of backpacking and a 30-pound pack isn't out of the question for me on a typical day.

I've had Sun Mountain bags for many years and wouldn't look anywhere else. Currently and for the last 2 years sporting the SM 3.5 and can't imagine anything lighter. I pick up other peoples bags and feel the difference immediately.

The one thing I do not like is cross -over (fanny) straps. I've always found single straps easier to get on with. Pick up your bag, clean your club, write down score etc. without having to fumble around getting strap on. I know this is a personal thing and I am most probably the only one to still want a single strap.

When the last SM bag was on it's last legs I bought the SM 3.5, revamped the old strap and jigged it up to the new bag.

Are there any single strap (decent ones) still around

I just picked up a Ping Craze Lite and it weighs about 4 pounds. With everything I'll need for the day it's still very light. I usually use a pushcart when I walk and it's almost as if I'm only pushing the cart. Simp

I agree I also have an OGIO Vapor Lite II bag and it is awsome! Very light and straps dont kill my back. Initially I had trouble with the legs folding when I picked it up, but the website instructed me to slide the y-band up in the legs and it fixed it right away. The woodie system is awsome two because it has four wood slots; geat for those with hybrids!

I just picked up an OGIO Exo...pretty sweet bag with the Woode system and zipperless ball pouch...the ZBP is a real time saver for me as I'm reaching a little more often than I like for a provisional ball! :)

Plus it's one of the few stand bags I've found that can actually stand on its base (without the legs).

I agree with Ogio...you can't go wrong. I've used Ping bags forever until I tried the Hoofer Xtreme...terrible. It looked nice and I really wanted to like it, but the stand is terrible, the club dividers are too crowded and the clubs still get tangled, and it just felt uncomfortable when carrying. People talk about how heavy the Ogio Grom is, but 1.5-2 lbs is so minimal and I can't tell the difference.

Thanks for all the input, guys. I think I'll check the Ogio, as it seems to be the most popular and everyone who has one is satisfied with it. :)

I would definately recommend getting an Ogio bag. Here is a link to a thread I started a couple weeks back. Its the Ogio Edge model which is the highest model carry bag they offer, has a bit more features than the Exo does and a bunch more than the Grom, but is also heavier than both.

I was so disapointed in the Ping J-bag, that I did not care about the weight. I wanted something that will last. The Ogio Exo was it for me. But you will have to treat the legs with kid gloves.
