Recommended Posts

The Srixon Z-UR features all the power of Srixon technology harnessed into their longest, most playable tour performance ball yet.

Srixon Z-UR Golf Balls feature:

* The largest, fastest energetic gradient core in a Srixon golf ball

* Delivers amazing resilience and initial ball velocity with low spin

* Thin cover and very large core mean amazing resilience and initial velocity with low spin

* 330 dimple pattern combines high trajectory with a penetrating ball flight

* Shear-resistant polyurethane cover lands the ball gently and stops it where it lands

* Soft and durable cover provides pinpoint control and great feel with approach shots

* Promotes stability in all cross winds and head winds

I have been playing this ball over my last 8 rounds or so. Looking for an alternative to the ProV1x, most of the same characteristics, with maybe a little less spin. I think this ball performs very similarly in every way and I like it a lot. It seems to have slightly less spin than the ProV1x, and maybe a little more distance off the tee. The only downside I have noticed, is the cover on the ball appears to not be very durable, and had several areas where tiny pieces of the outer cover would peel. I'd say this is a 1 round ball max, but everything else is great. I will stay with it for a while.

I play this ball as well. My experience has been a little different that yours though. I feel that this ball is more durable that a ProV1x and it's also a little harder resulting in a little less feel around the greens. On the launch monitor the proV1x spun a alot less (almost 900 RPM's less) than the Z-UR but the Z-UR carried 5 yards further than the ProV1x. Doesn't make sense but that's what it told me. I like the Z-UR and I'll continue to play it. Simp

Hmm, interesting on the spin. I think I would notice 900 rpm around the greens, especially on full shots. I think the Z-UR backs up a little less on full shots, and checks about the same on chips. I think the ProV1x is more likely to get a scuff, but the Z-UR actually had places that peeled on the ball, especially after wedge shots. Still, I like the ball. I got 72 mint ones on eBay for $100. A pretty good deal.

Maybe I got a pack of Top-Flites cleverly disguised as Z-UR's...but this ball is dismall. No feel whatsoever on or around the green. Distance is pretty good, but I can get the same distance from a two-piece distance ball at half the price.

Luckily I got them as a gift, so giving them away stung less than had I sprung $40 for 'em. But for now, I'm sticking with my HX Tours.

Hmm, I played the HX Tours that were a gift, and hated them. I thought they didn't spin around the green, and felt like I was squishing them on full shots. Not as long as the Z-UR. How about you send me your 3 sleeves of Z-URs and I will send you my 3 sleeves of HX Tours?

^that just proves to me..."to each his/her/it's own" etc is VERY true. everyone has their own opinions and frankly you may not have liked them cause you had a bad day and equated the ball to your day? Maybe not..... probably not...maybe so...... what am i saying? is anyone home?

I play this ball now. bwtn this, b330 and v1x. for now it's the srixon. also i don't have to put some crazy 4 dot mark on my ball to distinguish it from every other person out there. i use everything titleist / cameron except for my 60* 588 tour satin buttercutting lovewedge so frankly it's time for a change with the ball. i've had it with the very over inflated price of titleists. :golfer: here here!

the difference in price per box here in Vancouver BC is 44$ for the Z-UR and 56$ for the prov's. since it's only "new" prov's i say 'screw eeet'. That ball (old prov) was incredible feel wise however.

overall a great ball. they hold up much better than a proV1X and i believe go further. On wedge shots they dont rip back unless you try. i found other balls to spin like crazy, but this ball requires a bit more talent to really put the one hop and rip on it. not many people play them so you dont have to mark them too much. overall, i found myself a new ball
