I owe the audience who owns a stock shaft in their TaylorMade V-Steel an apology. I went to the range yesterday to try her out and this thing just flat out performs. Incidently, I bought an NV 75 stiff, but I think I'll put it in my V-Steel 7 wood (it had a steel R flex shaft, I had to buy it because it was 40% off at a store going out of business). That said, is this o.k.??? Since a 7 wood is more or less a bigger headed hybrid. Do I need a hybrid shaft???

No you do not need a hybrid shaft. Should be tipping instructions on Aldilas website. Most likely it has a .350 bore, so either need a shim or a .350 tip shaft.

I agree. i've never had an issue with TM Stock shafts. I have the V Steel 3 wood , stock TM stiff shaft and I rope it about 250-260. Its a damm good shaft. The stock in my 510 is also great. IMO- exotic shaft for us amateurs , even low handicap players just are not worth the extra 100 bucks. I know thats not what a lot of people here want to hear, but thats my opion and I'm a 5 index.

I guess, "don't knock until you try it", is a rule I should follow. I guess I was kind of naive to the fact that you can get just as good of stock equipment as you can get after market. I wish I would not have bought the NV, but at least I can replace my r flex steel shaft with the NV in my 7 wood.

The stock shaft in my 4 wood V-Steel will come off in the next 3 months, but right now it's fine, a new grip would be nice.
