I really didn't think that it was that good. Watching him have a panic attack was okay, but I would have to say that it was for good reason, especially being afraid of flying. Seemed kinda slow and boring as far as reality tv shows go...not sure if it is going to make the tivo list.

I really like Daly, but i don't think i can say i was very entertained by the show, i thought it was a bit slow, needs to show him playing more golf, and you are right Reid he smokes way to much.

show was pretty entertaining....particularly enjoyed how he made 3 references to beer in the first 5 minutes of the show. this first episode was kinda slow but the previews for the others show more tour events and pga players so it should pick up.

 

by the by has anyone gotten a chance to play that course of his in niagra falls??

I agree, I'm nervous for him that he will have a heart attack. Especially when he was on the helicopter, I really thought he was going to have a heart attack right then and there. What the hell was everybody doing by telling him that they were having difficulties with the heli, thats the last thing you tell someone who has a fear of flying. :)

I agree I thought the show was kind of slow and was having a hard time giving it my attention. I really like John and have respect for him being John, However, he needs to get a little more control of his life if he wants to be on this earth long enough to see his kids graduate from high school.

Ditto that! I realize that this is a very valid, scary thing for some people, but he REALLY appeared Schitzoid during that segment. The LAST thing you do is frighten a passenger, I don't know why the idiot pilot made references to overheating, or whatever.

At any rate - it's a lot more entertaining than the Natalie Gulbis show.

He tried to go cold turkey and it made him miserable. This is going to sound strange, but he drinks in moderation now compared to what he did before. There was a 60 minutes thing on this a while back about people couldn't go completely off the sauce and would ration out their drinks. It's not like it was done by many, but they did highlight some people who found this effective and functioned normally... I remember reading somewhere that's what he was doing.

I watched the tail end of him trying to hit it across niagra falls today when they were showing it again. Looks like a good show I'd like to see the whole thing. And yea he does need to cut down on the smoking and drinking.

The show was ok. Too much looping the scenes kinda like a low buget porno.

 

My favorite part was the commercial where he tells that guy he can out drive him and the guy just looks at the camera and says, "ya but I can sink a 4 footer!" Oh that was classic!

he is not a recovering alcoholic, rather he is a recovering whisky-fiend. he still pounds down the beers to this day. although to the best of my knowledge he is soley on beer, no other types of cocktails or otherwise. i have gotten to know him a bit at the club over the last 3 or 4 years. in fact my first week, he was shooting an antigua commercial and he had created a giant pile of empty bud light can on the putting green as he putted for dollars with older members while bombed all while the camera crew was getting set up. he is a big teddy bear that likes to have some drinks...doesnt make him a bad guy

Thats pretty nutz and nobody is saying he's a bad guy, in fact we all like him a lot and are hoping he cuts back so he can grace the golf world for a longer period of time. We are all obviously just expressing some concern, but he's the only one that can help himself and since he's a big guy his liver is probably massive and will help him live a long healthy life despite his habits :)
