parallel axis bent shafts?

Has anyone have any thoughts on the parallel axis bent shafts or clubs by PAX golf. Ray Carrasco won 2 times on the European Senior Tour with these clubs. Their website does not list any other players. Their website says "The offset position instantly puts a player's hand a little in front of the ball, improving set-up. This makes it much easier to get the ball airborne and much harder to slice the ball. Hitting a fairway wood is more like hitting a wedge! When a ball is struck, the impact produces a twisting force and some of the energy you create with your swing is lost. Parallel Axis shafts reduce torque and convert stored energy into ball velocity at impact. Less twist means more power and straighter shots." Has anyone had any luck with this?

I don't think that they would ever find their way into my bag.

 

Isn't their a rule that the shaft on an iron needs to be straight? I thought that I read somewhere that Kevin Stadler was DQ ed from a match or penalized a stroke because he noticed that the shaft on his wedge was bent and asked if he could replace it. The judge DQ'ed/penalized him because it was illegal to use irons with shafts that were not straight.

Their website claims that it is legal. They have been played by Ray Carrasco in a Champions Tour event. Bobby Clampett endorses them and did their infomercial. Here is the quote from their website: http://www.parallelaxisgolf.com

"If you could put a shaft, and therefore a player's hands, in line with the center of a club head, it would be virtually impossible to hook or slice the ball. Because of this, the U.S.G.A. has very tough rules covering shaft onset. The PAX system onset position moves the hands as close to the center of the club face as U.S.G.A. rules allow.

 

This, coupled with less twisting of the face, makes accuracy almost automatic. Your slices and hooks turn into fades and draws. Hit a few shots with the PAX system and you'll quickly see and feel how much easier golf can be."

If you watch the video it states they conform to USGA rules.

I was hitting balls next to Ray Carrasco a couple of weeks ago and he has apparently moved on.

 

The shafts in his irons were straight.

I don't think they'd actually fit in my bag... :)

 

I think they would cause some timing issues initially. I just could never get used to bent shafts.

This would probably explain why someone is selling 10 of these Pax PT Tour PWs for 10 dollars...I imagine they wouldn't behave properly if shafted with a normal straight shaft...yes I know this is roughly an 8 year old thread but very helpful, gents. Thank you!
