Awaiting the arrival of the Titleist 905R

Has there always been this many rumours with prior Titleist equipment?

I'm sure most of you have been into tour equipment long before I have, I was just wondering was there this much much anticipation and rumours flying around before the Titleist 975J, 983K&E, and 905T&S and other Titleist equipment came out?

There has not been this much antisipation since the 983 series came out. I personally can't wait to try the 905R, it seems very suited to my game and preferences.

There was a good bit of hype for the 975 series. Before that Titleist had produced the Howitzer (their first titanium attempt, I believe). It was a dubious club at best.

The 983 was used very successfully on Tour before its release, and it was a true "next generation" club (like the Launcher and 5 series). It lived up to the hype...was truly longer than the 975s.

From what I've heard, there as much performance difference in the 905R and the 983 and there was between the 983 and 975.

There is ALWAYS the he said , she said at the start of every season with Titleist, they are so secretive about what they are going to release, that no one really knows for sure until they actually launch their products, i think you might be right about this years being even more anticipated, mainly because they are launching so many new products vs the last 2 years. And bringing out a 460cc Driver , thats been the missing piece in the Titleist line up.

I had all my new Titleist stuff at a golfstore here in Michigan and the Titleist reps were there that day, and they had not seen or heard about any of the new products, they were in awe of it as much as anyone in the store.

We have to remember that this driver has been in a lot of the players hands since Late Summer Early September. Plus this driver is getting rave reviews from everyone and the fact that it is widely accepted by many of the top players on Titleist. I can't wait to hit it!
