Lamkin Dual Density Torsion Control, any reviews?

Getting ready for a regrip and my shop doesn't have the new torsion control grips by Lamkin. I am wondering if I should wait or go with my current grips.

Anybody use them and share opinions on them?

Put them on my woods two weeks ago. Very good grips with a feel that is hard to compare with anything else. I can assure you that slippage is a nonfactor with these. I think these are the kind of grips that you will really like or really dislike. I will keep them on my woods, but not my irons. I seem to feel the grip more than the clubhead, which is not what I like in my irons.

i have them on my scratch irons, and found they are too thick, even with only 1 layer of tape. they are hard to change to from tour velvets and i am yet to adjust to the feel. Looks wise these are cool! but so far it looks like they wont last too long!

P1, did you like them more than your iomic grips? Why did you switch away from the iomics. I am debating between some customization in grips amongst c-thru, iomic, and the torsion control.

The first time I saw these grips...I thought very cool. My initial experience with this grip was that it was soft and felt nice in the hands. After taking 7 swings with my driver today, I observed that approximately 1/2 an inch had slipped off the butt end of my shaft. WTF!?! Pitbull808 had all 4 of his newly installed grips on his clubs do the same thing while playing a round today. Either the grips we had installed were defective or Lamkin has a serious problem on their hands. I'm going back to the tour velvets for the time being.

that's not good to hear.. I'm real tough on grips and I just ordered 3 for the hell of it to try... I really like Lamkin Tour Black full cord and G3 qtr cord.

Well, I sincerely hope that your future experience with these grips are much more favorable than Reid's or mine.

I have had these grips installed on two of my drivers for about a month now and they feel like they turn or something in your hand sometimes on the downswing. They have an inner layer that seems to give from time to time. I have had trouble with one of them moving about a 1/4" from my butt end of one of my drivers also.

Russ you beat me to the punch on this one. I installed one on my X Drive two weeks ago. After one round I noticed the butt end was about 1/2" off the end of my club. I thought the grip might have slipped so I took it back to my clubfitter. Since I liked it so much, I added it to my 3 wood along with the wedges I just had reshafted. Like Russ said, after 14 holes, I noticed the driver grip had again actually stretched. I don't think it was a matter of slipping. I know my clubfitter know's how to put on a grip...he's done it hundreds of times on my clubs. :cheesy: If you rub the blue part with your fingernail, you'll notice that it moves and gives. The grip is too soft and I'm not bragging or anything but I swing pretty hard and the grips actually stretched at the butt cap. I was amazed to see there was some play at the cap end on my wedges too. Although I was hacking at them pretty hard in the long rough of Turtle Bay. :)

I know there are two versions of this grip. The normal one in black ribs and blue filler as shown in the above pics. A second is what they call the "tour" grip. I've seen in at Golfsmiths' website. That one has blue ribs and a black filler. I'm wondering if this one is a little more rigid for the harder swingers.

from what i've read about these grips you are correct. the tour one (mostly black with the few blue streaks) is a firmer material and less squishy for people with faster swing speeds. glad i read up on this post before gettin my clubs regripped, was seriously thinking about these guys but i think i'll just stay with the new decades.
