Tiger after 9 holes

Needs to go back to the Ignite

Well I just looked at pgatour.com and saw Tiger's stats after 9 holes and I bet he'll be going back to the Ignite. So far he's only hit 17% of the fairways.

You don't have to be accurate to be good. He's -3 after 11 on the North Course. Look at Vijay, he's taking the philosophy that u just need to rip it down there. He'd rather hit 9 iron from the rough than 6 iron from the fairway. I mean that's just kinda the way tour players (at least long hitters) are lookin at it. EXCEPT FOR BUBBA WATSON! He just rips it down there 350 in the fairway! (cool) It's awesome!

 

I guess you only looked at driver accuracy. He's hit 82% of greens!

Tiger never has good percentages when it comes to driver accuracy. I don't know what it was with his Ignite but it's never been good. It's not his driver that's missing the fairways it's him. Besides, he hasn't played in over a month. He even said he didn't even pick up a club for 26 days. He's going to be a little rusty. 2 under ain't bad for his first tournament in over a month.

Yeah but that was -1 on the North Course. I believe they said the South Course is playing 3 strokes tougher.

and he was having a tough time on the greens too...

 

and hes playin SC tomorrow, don't see chance of going low 60..

What's new about TW and the other big names on tour not hitting it into the fairway? There are only a few tournaments a year when driving accuracy matters, it is the most over-rated stat in golf!

i doubt he'll go bak 2 the ignite jus coz he missed a few fairways didnt seem 2 botha him b4 and i dont fink it matters how much harder the south course at torrey pines is coz tiger will still go low

heres what i see:

driving distance: 326 yards - #1 in distance, good for him

fairways: 1/14 - thats bad!!!

GIR's: 12/18 - thats not good for him, you expect better

Putts: 31 - we expect better putting than that. maybe he needs to look at a new putter

putts gir's: 22 - thats 22 putts on the 12 of the holes, and 9 putts for the other 6 holes. tells me when he was hitting the green in regulation, he was in a bad spot, or far from the hole.

 

looking at this, obviously he needs to be doing a better job of getting the ball in the fairway, however, i didn't see his round and for all i know he might have been in the first cut only. seems like its his irons he needs to be working on at this point and his putting.

Yeah yeah but he still hit it everywhere. I was watching his "Tiger" video series and he said why he changed his swing after the 1997 Masters was because he culd hit a mile but he said he had no idea where it was going. He just had a bad day today.

totally agree....was it really the SQ that made him miss putts in that 3 hole stretch of bogeys???

 

i imagine after a whole month of not swinging any clubs it might take a round of two to get back into shape. it's not like its the masters here fellas, it's his first tourney of the year
