Bettinardi and Mizuno

Now that Bettinardi is with Mizuno and since Luke Donald is with Mizuno what are the odds that Luke Donald switches putters? They both love Chicago. Would it be a good match?

it'd be tough to say. i could easily see him switching now that mizuno has a putter that can hold it's own against scotty. i would imagine it would be like david toms switching from a scotty to the exact same style putter but from never compromise. i'm sure mizuno already has it in the works that luke get some qualtiy fitting time in with bettinardi.

Luke played with a Bettinardi BB1 during his college days at Northwestern and he won his first PGA tournament with his Bettinardi at the 2002 Southern Farm Bureau Classic here: http://www.thegolfchannel.com/core.aspx?pa...06&select2=5605. Bettinardi is working on some models with Luke as we speak. So it won't be too far away until we see Luke back with his Bettinardi.

Hope this venture sticks longer then previous Minzuno putters. Cameron, Mills, now Bettinardi. C'mon Mizuno, spend some $$ on marketing! Don't let this one turn out to another Cameron!

Luke Donald seems to have an incredible eye when it comes to putters. I can't wait to see some of the Protos.

I'm really looking forward to this "team" though. I think it's really a win-win for Bob Bettinardi. I'm sure the reigns have been loosened on the creative side since Mizuno had lost TP Mills and Bob will surely get more attention then he did with Hogan. It will definitely help his Japan sales.

i doubt that mizuno "let" scotty go. i'm sure that SC knew he was gonna be big, and that he would need a larger company, like titleist, to help him grow. and when is the last time tp mills made a good looking putter? in my opinion, it was a good idea that mizuno let that partnership end. i'm sure that since mizuno has teamed up with BB, the marketing, tour presence, etc. will increase tremendously. and the deal was a multi-year deal, so it shows some committment on both sides.

and when is the last time tp mills made a good looking putter?

Now, 5 minutes ago, 10 minutes ago.... I fail to see your point. Smooth lines and attention to detail will always win over a milling machine and a honeycomb.

i don't find tp mills putters to be very attractive, just my opinion. the designs do nothing for me. and bettinardi putters are milled to exact specs, with no tolerances. so there is definitely attention to detail.

so if a milling machine is so bad, i guess the scotty fanatics have been fooled into wasting their money. and the tour presence of SC, BB, and TP Mills sure are a little different.

Different strokes for different folks. The Mills know what works and they have a long tradition working with Tour Pros to do it. 2 Generations also says alot. RJB does incredible work and has worked with many OEMs. Both are fine putter makers and they both have their own styles! :huh: (cool)
