I would nominate most Cameron putters as the best knock offs ever made.

I would ask the mods to remove this thread as the production of knock-offs is illegal. This discussion has no place on this board.

I had the King Snake which was a King Cobra knockoff years ago. Supposedly they were the same club head but sold "out the backdoor" of the foundry in China. Played them for a while until got a set o

Correct me if I'm wrong, however I remember talk back in the day that King Snake pre-dated King Cobra, and it was King Cobra who hijacked the "brand name recognition" from King Snake....

Back in the day one of my playing partners was into building sets and selling to friends. He ordered 12 sets of King Snake heads from a distributor in Calif and when the shipment came in, there was 12 sets of heads but 4 of the sets were actual King Cobras. When he called the distributor, the guy said that he ordered that shipment directly from the factory and had them shipped directly to the buyer. He also told him and this is in the for what it's worth category, that Cobra authorized the King Snake look a likes from their factory, to negate anyone else from making copies. After all, all the monies with either set would wind up in Cobras coffers. If you put the snake and the king side by side, they were identical, only difference was the name.

My folks bought me a starter set of irons when I was in HS. Pal Joey's. Dead ringer of Ping Eye 2's.

Pal Joey's were quality clubs.  They were actually Dynacrafts retail version of clubs.  I think Tom Wishon had a hand in designing them.  They had a great knockoff of the big bertha SS woods, they weren't counterfit at all they had their own style, and a short hosel, but they had a similar shape and size, I actually liked the performance better.  I used the 3 wood for several years, it is actually one of my favorite 3 woods ever.  If you wanted a good club back in the 90's for a great price this was a good option.

Who would have thought the hotbed for component golf clubs would have been Newark, Ohio. Dynacraft and Golfworks were so close together. I am lucky I am still able to go to golfworks well pre covid I could. They have really random stuff in their pro shop....heads that never made catalog. Fun stuff like that.

I had a set of king snakes with non-descript graphite shafts (gold/black) when I was a junior golfer and had the pleasure of winning against some of those umm... "snobby"  Naples, FL kids with the latest and greatest at the time.   Paired with my Fuzzy Zoeler 5 wood, knock off adams tight lies driver, and some diamond face wedge it was quite the bag.

I don't know if this counts as a knockoff, but I bought some Golf Pride MCC's from ebay from a reputable seller, but when I got them, they had the gasoline smell (tell-tale sign of a fake). I emailed GP and reported the seller. I tossed them in the garage and forgot about them, eventually had an urgent need to regrip one of my wedges, put them on and ended up liking them better than the real thing. Will have to start the grip search again once they die since I won't support fakes.

You're confusing knock-offs with counterfeits.  Golf was interesting years ago when "inspired by" clubs abounded.

The first set I bought was pinemeadow, bertha knockoffs.

They were good.  For a poor college kid who wanted to learn.  When I upgraded to i10s, I was shocked - well, not really - what I was missing out on.  I also had two of the heads just pop off mid round too, but hey...it was like 175 bux for the whole set of irons.

This week, the PGA Tour is at TPC San Antonio on the Oaks Course for the Valero Texas Open. GolfWRX was on-site Tuesday to catch a glimpse into the bags of some of the world’s top golfers.

The field of 144 is getting ready to battle starting Thursday for the $7.7 million purse, with $1.386 million going to the winner. The tournament is also the last event where players can qualify for The Masters, just like Canadian Corey Conners did last year.
