5wood or rescue Dual

I currently have a 19deg rescue dual Tp (carry 210 yards) and a r7 fairway 15deg (carry 240 yards). I am looking for a club that would fit nicely between these two?

The two that i have been looking at were either a r7 fairway 17.5deg or a 16deg rescue dual.

I am looking for a club that i can play low into the wind but would also carry somewhere between these two clubs.

Does anyone have any experence with these clubs?

Had a similar problem?

Or just have any sort of recommendation that they would like to give?

Any feedback would be much appreciated!!!

I've tried out the new r7 fairway metaland the rescue dual, but i didn't care for them (and the moveable weights were pretty much useless for me). I think the best fairway metal for off the tee, rough, and fairway has got to be the tm vsteel. And for 75 dollars less than the rescue dual and 275 less than another r7 fairway wood, it's a steal. Great trajectory and forgiveness as well as power off the face. They also make a 16.5 degrees fairway metal which would fit quite nicely between your 19* hybrid and 15* fairway wood.

I think many of us have this problem, it seems to be where hybrids and FW's meet and we can't decide which way to go. I've tried several hundred :cheesy: combo's and still haven't settled on one. My new plan is to use a new Nickent 3DX Utility (5W) which is cross between a FW and hybrid. I have the club, but haven't hit it yet. If looks are anything to go by, it'll be a winner.

I wished I could help you but I don't think my talent will let me talk with inteligance. I replaced my five wood with a 14 degree rescue dual tp. I only get about 210 out of it so I really can not comment on your question. I have r7 tp 3 wood 13 degree and the dual does hits a little lower, but I am using less loft than your question.

This year, it'll be driver, 17* FW, 22* & 26* hybrid, 5-PW, 50, 54, & 58. Realizing 'no balls, no blue chips', I've decided not to try to land the green from 240-250 yds, so I think I can live w/o my 3W. Might change my mind later but... Might also give up or swap out the 26* for 4I and/or lose the 50*. We'll see.

I think you can pick the 4W that trips your trigger from 16*-17.5* and be happy. Buy one used off this site and you'll have not spent a ton of cash to experiment either.

i agree with a lot of the suggestions here. if your looking for a wood, look at the v-steel. one of the best out there. i've got a 3-wood and it is incredibly easy to hit. you also can't go wrong with the tm rescue dual. very forgiving clubs from any lie. i personally am a fan of the hybrids. i find them more forgiving when your swing is off due to the shorter shaft. i sometimes replace my 15* 3 wood with a 14* rescue dual tp. the rescue club is shorter than the 3-wood, even though its a degree stronger. my 3-woods (nike ignite 15* and v-steel 15*) both have steel shafts and are 42.5" where the rescue dual with a steel shaft is 40.5". thats a 2" difference. the rescue dual is about 5-10 yards shorter. so if this is what my 14* does, than a 16* is probably another 10-15 yards. the 16* could be a good fit. its just a matter of what you are more comfortable and confident in swinging.

Nickent 3DX 17* all the way!

The Dual 16* is only going to be 5 yards shorter than your 3 wood.

A 16° hybrid better go more than 5 yards shorter than a 3w. It has more loft and is shorter.

Sorry, let me clarify that. I found that off the turf, a 16* hybrid wasn't any more than 10 yards difference between my 3 wood (15deg). My opinion is that the rescues are much easier to get in the air and a without question easier to hit off the turf. This consistently created more solid contact and a higher launch which is what closed the gap between these 2 clubs when hitting off of the turf. Off the tee, I was hitting my 3 wood 20 yards further than my 16* rescue.

Check out Paula Creamers bag for instance. She goes 15* 3w / 19* Rescue. I'm sure because from the turf, which where we hit 80% of our shots, the 3w and 16* Rescue would be very close...
