Low or high bounce on 60 degree wedge?

Will soon be buying a 60 degree MP T Mizuno Black Nickel wedge to match my other wedges, but need help on the bounce. It will mainly be used for finesse shots around the green, thicker greenside rough and sand. The sand in our area is pretty firm (Chicago). Any suggestions on the amount of bounce (5 degree or 8 degrees).

8* isn't really a lot of bounce. i play my 58* and 60* vokey oil cans with 8* bounce and they are good to me both here in north texas (firm fairways, hard sand in the bunkers) as well out on the east coast (charleston, south carolina - soft fairways, soft sand, and rough that you can lose a small kid in). granted, the 8* bounce of my vokey could be a big difference than the 8* bounce of the mizuno. i've been struggeling with my nike forged wedges with are only a degree off in bounce.

both are considered low bounce; for more options in playing different shots, go lower if you already play your ball at the rear...the greater if you play your ball center or forward (for flops) ...if you need yet more bounce @ 60* just lay open your SW

I love low bounce on my wedges. But i all depends on your apporoh to the ball. I belive if you said you will use it in think rough and sand, lower is better do it digs and gets it out. Just my 2 cents. I aslo find with lower bounce the ability to spin it more and get out of thick rough easy.

I just bought a 60 degree Mizuno Black Nickel (arrived yesterday) and went with the 5* bounce because most of the courses I play have firm fairways and sand. 3* is not a whole lot of difference but like Katbird said I can always open it up for a little more.

My only regret is its rained for 3 days and I can't try it out today. Going to have to give it another day or so.

Not only are both od those low bounce but I fid that Mizuo wedges play like little knives...my experience has been that I required a lot more bouce on their wedges.
