I haven't hit the MP wedges yet, but I just got a set of MP-60s so they may be an option later this year. With that said, I have played a Ping Tour 52 and 58 for the last year and have been very impressed. Spin with these is really good, and the custom options that Ping provides can't be beat. I have my wedges 3 degrees upright, plus one inch. Another great option with Ping is all of the custom grinds that you can request with at no additional charge. I have the TS grind on my 58 and it is one of the most versatile wedges that I have played. Here is a link to see all that they can do:

I have played both and liked the MP series the best and the Black Ox the best of the MP line. The biggest difference to me was the plability of the mizuno's. The Pings I dumped after a couple of rounds. When we swingweighted them at the shop the Pings came out D6, the Mizuno's were D3.5

That might have made them feel better to me, its hard to say. The spin of the mizzys is very good.

Both are great wedges ;)

But I would probably pick the :crazy2: Mp-T wedges in black Nickel if you're going to buy the Mp-60 irons from :pimp: :drinks:

If you don't like the shape of the Mp-60 PW, you can easily replace it with a 47 degree PW from the ;) Mp-T series in Black Nickel - I did, and it works like a charm :D

On top of that the grooves in the new Mp-T wedges are deeper and better than the old Mp wedges - and I like the dark bronze color of the Black Nickel and the head shape of the Mp-T wedges very much - and its' forged and pretty durable for a forged wedge, probably not as durable as the cast Ping wedge (nothing beats Ping when it comes to durability......NOTHING) but my Mizuno Mp-T Black Nickel doesn't show serious wear marks after 6 months of use.

I've played both -

I custom ordered the Ping Tours in 50, 54, and 58 Low Bounce in D4, D5, D6 respectively and .5 inches over std/blue dot, Z-Z65 softstepped. They called me and said the 54 could only come out to D7. No big deal -since 1 SW is the weight of a dollar bill.

The Pings, distance wise, are longer. Spin to me is close but the Pings seem to stop quicker. It might have something to do with the shaft - the DGS300 is a poor choice for me with the Mizunos - too tip stiff.

I like the Pings because of the customization and spin. You can also customize further with a grind for your conditions. The Ping 58 low bounce already has a grind on them and they get through this season's very tight drought condition lies very nicely. But I might put a trailing edge grind on them later. As to the 54, I wanted a real sand wedge so I kept it standard - very nice and easy out of bunkers and fine in the fairway. The 50 also has a bit of a grind on it. Nice club.

The MP series are very nice - a bit rounded with a good feel in Spinners. The MP-T Series is more compact and Vokey-like. Depends on what look you want. I found the Ping Tour LW a bit easier on flops than the Mizu. But like all things, your mileage may vary.

I really like the Pings so far.
