The Callaway Golf® Big Bertha Fusion FT-3 Driver utilize Fusion Technology, the superior weight-shifting science that uses multiple materials in clubhead construction. The OptiFit™ System creates three configurations for each loft - Draw, Neutral and Fade - allowing you to select a configuration that best fits your swing type and shot shape, while the carbon composite body material ensures stability and distance in your drives.

I just hit this driver at Golf Galaxy.

Aldila NVS 65 Stiff shaft, and knocked it farther than I have hit any driver to date. Now I am just starting the game here, so take that with a grain of salt.

I was hitting the following in my tests.

Cleveland HiBore (Ok, don't like it at address to much, but wasn't a big deal)

Nike Ignite (Love it)

Nike Sasquatch (Hated it)

Ping G2 (One of my very favorites)

I was averaging 210 to 230 with these.

With the FT-3 I was hitting it more consistent and farther. 240 to 250. The flight path was nice! and not ballooning at all. I actually was able to hit more shots with duplicate paths, unlike the other drivers. I did come close with the PING G2, and Nike Ignite. So, my empasis was on the shaft I think more than anything. I love the NVS 65 S.

The club was easy to hit.

I've demo'd this club a couple of times with the exact same shaft, 10* head, neutral weighting...

Right now, after much thought, this is the leading candidate for my bag...

Still need to take it head to head with a Cleveland Comp 9.5 or even 8.5 head, side by side... Tried the G5 as well, liked that, too, but the 10.5 launched too high, 9 degree too low... swing on the day of the G5 experiment was not on like it was for the FT3 experiment... Cleveland Comp head was good both days... decisions, decisions... :(

I have a FT-3, 10º, Draw with the stock NVS 55-S shaft.

First, I'm not sure how much the "Optifit" really affects that ball flight b/c I was getting the same results with both the Draw and the Neutral. I ended up picking up the Draw "Just in case".

I've been playing this driver for almost 6 months now and the numbers don't lie. Prior to owning this driver I had a BB454 and a really short run with a X460. Since picking up my FT-3 in June, I have added more than 15 yards to my avg driving distance and have hit alot more fairways than with the BB454.

It could be that I'm just getting better, it could be that I wasn't properly fit for either the 454 or the X460, or it could be that the FT-3 is that much better of a driver. But I am so confident with this driver now and so happy with the results, I don't see this coming out of my bag anytime soon.

Thanks,

I have a 10 degree FT-3 with a prolaunch blue in regular flex at 44.5". I like everything about this driver except for the 1 degree closed face. Slicing isn't a problem for me. Setting this up square at address is somewhat of a guesstimate and I hit it left more than I would like. If only it had a square face.

Tour Edge Exotics:  Irons and Woods

Cleveland:  Wedges

Odyssey:  Putter

I had this driver with a stiff 65g Aldila shaft with 10 deg loft and draw bias. When I got it I really should not have had that shaft or club. Since then on good driving days it worked like a charm which was anywhere from 250-290 yds down the pipe. The only issue I had was that when I had a bad day (I am a 16 handicap) the ball would take off about 200 yards and either go left or right another 50. This was obviously a swing issue but I now know there are more forgiving drivers out there. I have switched to the Cobra LD F 10.5 with a stiff shaft and this club is wayyyy more forgiving. I am now hitting about 33% more fairways with the same distance and the misses rarely go more than 20 yards off target. FT3 is a great club but there are more forgiving ones out there for folks like me. The height on the shots with the Cobra are much higher but they have very little spin which has been a real asset to me. The Cobra is more forgiving than the Big Bertha 460 IMO.

Was able to purchase this driver on Ebay for $50. Came with an Aldila NV-65S shaft. 9 degrees, Neutral.

Currently using a Cleveland Hi-Bore XL and for this price I wanted to see how an older model Callaway would compare....just for shts and giggles.

I found the groove after the 3rd or 4th swing and was able to start striping. Face was hot and the ball was jumping off of the face. Everything was great, until...put the Cleveland back in to compare. Found the Cleveland to have a higher ball speed and was much more forgiving. So much for the attempted coup right. Right.

I enjoyed this driver a lot. It is a bit older so I guess it isn't fair to compare to a "newer" model, but the face is a bit small and less forgiving than what is out there now.

I would bring it out for fun and I enjoy hitting this club. It is pure pleasure. The best is the "thud" you get when it comes off of the face. Was much more pleasant than the "ting" that I get from my Cleveland that actually leaves a ringing in my ears. For reals.

just recently going away from my ft-3 (its a draw set and i am starting to get a more balanced swing) But i must say for the last 2 years i have been absolutely destroying the ball with this club...its amazing to me how much further this went than my r7 superquad... granted it fits my swing more i am sure.. but that being said i just pray the new 909 i got last week will keep up with the distance i was getting
