for scotty cameron T putter

I bought a circle T cameron off ebay about a month ago hoping it to be my first tour putter. but soon after the purchase, i had to sell the putter along with my other sticks for my financial situation. When the buyer received the T putter, he claims that it's a 'fake'.(although it's a legit Cameron, he's saying someone cleaned out the bottom and stamp the circle T). When i first received the putter, I honestly couldn't tell if it's real or fake. It looked good, and it was my first ever time seeing circle T in person. So i believed it was a real thing.( I still believe it is real one, but it's in his hand and he's requesting a refund for the putter). He's even threatening that sellers of this kinda putter have been prosecuted... So i tried to contact the original seller, but he's not responding to my email at all.

Has anyone experience something like this? IF it is a fake as the buy is claiming, what'd be the best thing i should do?

He also mentioned that Scotty Cameron(the company) is requesting this kinda stuff, but i'm not sure what that means. Are they(scotty cameron) going to pay me for the price i paid for it?

Please, if you have any information regarding this kind of stuff, would you please share it ?

If you honestly thought it was legit, I can't see how you are at fault in any way. I am sure you went through the process to make sure you were buying legit tour cameron, especially for the price you probably paid for it. I was involved in a deal where I pointed out a seller of fake Callaway clubs and Callaway seized the equipment and sent my friends grandfather a legit set of clubs. Hopefully Cameron will do the same for you.

Post the pics...someone should be able to help you out on it's legitmacy. If it's not...have him send you back the putter and when you get it in hand....refund the money.

I've bought from janile (sp?) he changed his ebay name, now's it's buddy something.. I cant remember what I purchased.. probably a vokey wedge.. he seems legit.. but that putter does not.

 

Best thing to do on this one is COA to be sure.

The titleist stamp is definately not hand done.. not that all of them are, but it's very straight... something is just odd about the front stamping..they just dont look right.

 

in his picture you can kind of see something on one of the bumpers.. looks suspious..like a weld over.

this is second this kind 'fake' stuff hit me. guess i'm not that good at telling 'real' stuff from fake (at least with pictures).

 

I ended up eating up the cost of the fake pro combo: i sold the set for the price of the shaft(at least the shaft was real). At least on that, i knew it was a fake when i got them, so i didn't want to pass the loss to other people on ebay. But this time, i really thought this was real.

 

Man, i'm even thinking of quitting on ebay after this sh*T

Sorry to hear about your financial loss. Rule of thumb....never buy a "tour" putter without verifying the COA first.

yea that putter definitely looks like a fake and i'm not even an expert, the titleist stamp and the cavity look just like the retail gunmetal's... they prolly stripped the finish, stamped the circle t's and then refinished with some kind of rusty patina... sorry

Don't ever pay with anything but PayPal. It is your only recourse if something like this happens. I had a guy one time that was selling a Cameron Newport 1.5 Black Pearl Prototype. I received a Newport 1.5 Beach Prototype with no headcover. The club was mint, but not what I purchased. I believe mine was sent to someone else. Anyways, I contacted the seller with no response. I then filed a claim through PayPal, received all my money back and got to KEEP the club. The entire process took about 45 days, but was well worth it. I never heard from the seller. If I had paid with a check or money order, I would not have been able to do this. I just never even bother looking at anything if they don't accept PayPal. Also, a lot of people worry about the fees that PayPal charges. If the buyer pays from available funds that are already in their PayPal balance, the seller does not incur these fees. So, if everyone knew this, PayPal might be accepted if they were paying that way. Just some FYI!!

100% for sure fake. You need to do the right thing and refund the buyers money....You will just have to take the loss on this one...Next time you want to buy ask here first!
