Soft-Stepping X100's Twice

Comparison to S300's or TFR 6.0's?
I have a set of Mizuno MP60's with X100's soft-stepped once. They are 1/4" over standard. I want to increase the length by another 1/2", so I'm thinking about soft-stepping them once more by switching same shafts up by one club. End result would be 3/4" over, X100's soft-stepped twice.

Anyone know what soft-stepping X100's twice will do to overall flex, considering that I'm also lengthening by another 1/2". I would also play this length if I switched to S300's. So really wondering how soft-stepping the X100's twice would compare to S300's?

I'm looking for something in between S300 and X100, similar to a TFR 6.0.

You could always just go with the TFR 6.0 or in TT DG that would comparably be the S400's.

soft-steeping the x-100s twice will give you something right in between x-100 and s-300. the overlength will cause them to play even slightly softer. no matter what you do to a dg, it will never be anything like a tf rifle. trying to hit something like a 6.0 flex in a dg in a mistake ... dg's are not made that way. imo it's nonsense to equate an x-100 to 6.6 and an s-300 to 5.8 on the rifle scale (like so many do) ... they are just completely difference shafts no matter whether a frequency machine generates the same cpm levels for both.

Thanks Goose/Mike0814,

I've played TFR or PX for several years, and have played both shafts in my MP32's.

I know that the Rifles and DG's are different types of shafts. The reason that I tried the MP60's with X100's was that I hadn't played DG's for awhile, and had heard that the MP60's had a higher ballflight. So wanted to keep trajectory down. Just feel like the X100's are a bit too harsh.

The reason I'm futzing around with the X100's is that it will cost very little to soft-step again, since I already have the shafts/grips. Just wanted opinions as to how they might play if soft-stepped twice.

Otherwise, my next step was going to be to start switching out one of the clubs with TFR 6.0, S400 and soft-stepped PX 6.0.

If you put the spined possition on a neutral possition or I called it soft possition, You feel the shafts softer and easier to load.

The idea of spining is to build the club as consistent as possible ( feel and perfomance ) after finding the spined of the shaft. Yes, certain players need a certain way of perfomance they like to see and feel.

Thanks for your input Joe. I'm still trying to settle on my favorite irons. Switching between MP32's and MP60's, and holding out to try the new 695CB's.

Once I settle on one, I'd like to arrange to send them to you to let you work your "magic". As I mentioned, I'm familiar with the TFR and PX, but would also consider moving to another shaft (e.g., Tour Concepts), based on your reco.

Thanks again.
