Outstanding pics- what camera were you using? Interesting to see Sandy Lyle with a 53* Solus. I've had them and the only loft of merit is the 61*. The others dig like mad.

the year i finally get a good digi cam i cant make it out to pebble, its only a 20 minute drive too

but im going to go to the Jr. Golf clinic at the pebble range/polo feildd, so ill take some pics, Jason Gore is supposed to be out there. ill post later tomarrow with anything i have

Sony DSC-H1 which I borrowed. I think it is a 5 megapixel and it has 12x zoom which was nice. I was thinking about toting around a 200MM lens on a SLR, but it probably would not have made that much of a difference.

A few observations from today.

 

Emmit Smith has improved quite a bit in one year. Last year when I was watching him at PB, he struggled. He still hits some errant shots, but a lot more consistent. But that does not mean his swing looks great, a very typical awkward looking swing by a NFL great who is just too thick for golf.

 

That is more than I can say for George Lopez who likes to hang out a lot and hit a lot of balls, but they still all go to the right. Not improving.

 

TM is everywhere of course, 425 R7s everywhere, and players like the Rombax based shaft so much I saw a couple of them in TM colors in non TM heads for the FWs. Players shall remain nameless.

 

UST V2 is the hot shaft right now. Remember how everyone was going ga-ga over Aldila Lizard when it came out? UST V2 is enjoying the same success. Those shafts are everywhere in Drivers and FWs.

 

Cleveland has a lot to be proud of, they have really upped to the club count and staff bags in just the last two years.

 

Wow did Bettinardi jump on with Mizuno fast, the putters are all over the place, but not necessarily in use.

 

Camilo Villegas has got game. It will take him some time to become a truly great putter, but I expect him to end up more successful in the long run than Sergio Garcia.

 

The Tour Edge Exotics rep had a nice moment. He snagged VJ aside as VJ came onto the range and showed him some irons. VJ was not faking interest, he was seriously listening. So serious that VJ brought the tour rep over to meet the Cleveland reps and have a little pow-wow. Nice move.

 

I did not see one person wearing a Pittsburgh Steelers hat. Very surprising.

 

The TM TP MBs that are "proto" are really nice. I was not much of a fan of the TP CBs, but the MBs....oooh.

 

Fred Funk still likes the Vanilla RAC CBs with no markings.

 

I have played Pebble quite a bit and luck always follows me in the form of great weather. But today was exceptional, even by California standards. Over 70 degrees, hardly a breath of wind, and glorious sun. Even the waves looked higher and more beautiful than ever. I was really jealous of some of the chops I saw today, I wanted to tee it up.

These are some of the highest quality pics of seen on this board. Not to slight any of the exceptional pics in the past, but these were great!!

 

The course pics were some of the best I've seen, and there are plenty out there. Maybe golfwrx could work with you on putting together a screen saver slide show with a smaller watermark in the corner. It would be on my PC right now.
