TT Black Gold...like standard Rifle or PX?

who has hit them or played them?

I have read most of the posts and I am confused about the playing characteristics of the TT Black Gold.

For those who have logged some playing time with these shafts...can you say that the BG plays more like a standard rifle or the PX...or is it some combination of both?

The Black Gold shafts are DG's equivalent to the Project X.

Thanks. I did read that post. Some have said they play more like standard rifles and others, like TheLastDon have said they are TTs response to PX. I am not a fan of PX shafts and was hoping that the BG shafts perform more like a standard Rifle with some refinements by TT that bring the ball flight down.

 

I guess the answer will come as more people try the BG shafts. They apparently don't feel as muted as PX shafts.

they feel more like the DGold than PX, the flight is more like the PX, they have a very solid feel like DG but a slightly higher flight, they seem to play slightly stiffer than the DGS300's to me closer to a 6.0 PX, (just an opinion, no freq #'s) so I'm thinking of softstepping mine, very good shaft though

The frequency numbers on TTs website seem to confirm your thought that a BG S plays stiffer than DGS300.

I know that you can't always judge a shaft's stiffness by frequency numbers alone[remember TMs Burner Bubble shafts that frequencied so high due to the butt stiffness]...but all the frequency numbers of the R flex BG start at over 300 and go up. I had one member tell me that a taper-tipped regular installed frequencies at 5.2 to 5.3.

 

If they feel like DG and not a PX but offer the PX ballflight...then they will be worth a try for me.

they are definatly worth a try, I just got through soft stepping mine so when they dry I will cut them off and try them this way, they should be better
